The room was very clean as well as being spacious enough. Bathroom very clean and the usual amenities provided. Free parking is available at the back with direct access to the rooms so guests may skip going through the pub/front. Accessibility may be an issue for those who cannot or find it hard to take the stairs since the rooms are all on the first floor.
Breakfast is included but it's very limited (the quintessential Weetbix and toast with jam and butter). However, there are very good breakfast options a la carte. We will certainly return whenever in Whanganui.
Our room was nicely decorated, fitting the style of the hotel. The service we received from everyone was great and I enjoyed chatting with the lovely lady who cleaned our room.
The bar and restaurant downstairs had a really good buzz and it was always busy in the evenings. There’s a good range of beers and an excellent wine list. A continental breakfast was included in our room rate, or other breakfasts could be ordered. We didn’t eat other meals here, but they looked very hearty.
All food is exceptionally good, dinner was delicious with excellent friendly and efficient service… range of craft beers available was great fun.
Room is super quiet above the inn and large even with this being the smallest type of room they have.
Location is excellent, had a great time at market this morning and are just a quick walk away from lots to see and do.
The included breakfast was a choice of several cereals and toast, with compote and yogurt… all of which was delicious.
The team are very kind and helpful and super keen to support with anything you might need or want.

Room was clean and looked exactly as it did on the online photo, bathroom was very clean and modern. For a one-night stop over this was a comfortable place to stay. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as all rooms are upstairs and there is no lift available.
Breakfast is served downstairs in the pub, but limited options for what is included in price of room.
The room was great, really big with a double and single bed, but still warm in the middle of winter. Beds were comfy. The bathroom was wheelchair suitable (although all the rooms were upstairs). It was also well equipped with coffee and tea making facilities and a bar fridge, as well as a TV and free wifi.
We thought the room rates were very reasonable, with a continental breakfast included. We ate dinner in the pub restaurant, which was good pub food and did beer tastings - also the sort of place where single travellers would be able to eat without feeling conspicuous. The pub itself specialises in craft beers, with beer tastings available.
It has a car park for guests, and a little lounge room upstairs. The stairs are quite steep, both internal stairs and external stairs down into the car park.
Staff were lovely, friendly and chatty. We will definitely stay there again!
The car park was a tight squeeze and the outside steps to the rooms were challenging in the rain, although there is an internal staircase as well.
The restaurant was buzzing with mainly locals. Always a good sign. The food and beer were excellent as was breakfast the next morning.
"The room overlooking the street was noisy with street sounds throughout the night."Read full review
