We stayed one night but we had ample possibilities to see how this is a great place. The room itself is big and very well decorated, plus, it’s literally filled with useful things such as extra towels, soaps, coffee&tea and the like. The location is outstanding with a magnificent garden and plenty of seating spaces to either enjoy other guests company or quite privacy. The breakfast was good and on top of a typical buffet Gareth cooked for us pancakes and bacon (but he actually gave us several choices to pick from). Moreover, they are very helpful and careful to give useful tips to travellers with their upcoming days, which is very useful given that they are very knowledgable on that.

In conclusion, a very nice and positive experience which I thoroughly recommend!!!!

Returning to NZ to visit old friends dotted around Auckland and Tauranga we enjoyed two nights at this lovely B&B on the edge of Thames. Beautiful views, lovely rooms, and amazing breakfasts. Garth is a mine of information about the area and we kept busy following his suggestions. The scenery on the Pen was even more spectacular than we remembered. Remember to allow plenty of time for driving the winding narrow roads: it ain't 110km/h on cruise control like Australia!

We were looking for something special for our short break and came across Cotswold Cottage in Thames.
What we found was beyond our expectations. Fabulous little place. Perfectly charming room and well appointed bathroom.
Our hosts Adrienne and Garth were very accomodating and made us feel
very welcome. Afternoon tea was provided upon our arrival and we were welcome to use their spa pool.
A choice of a full cooked breakfast plus homemade muesli was made available and included in the very reasonable price. Our hosts also provided local knowledge of various activities in the area.

We were so happy to have chosen to stay here and highly recommend.

Thames is not the easiest place to find excellent accommodation so we were thrilled to find Cotswold Cottage. It's a beautiful b&b, with thoughtfully furnished rooms and lovely views. Breakfast is excellent and served in a lovely dining room with sunshine streaming in. Our visit was in winter and our bedroom was warm with multiple heating options and there was plenty of hot water. The bed is very comfortable with quality linen. We enjoyed the hot tub and would have loved to have spent more time in the pretty gardens. The hosts, Adrienne and Garth were warm and hospitable without being intrusive. They recommended a nearby walk to the Kauri grove which was beautiful. This really is a quality place to stay.

Thanks so much Elizabeth - that was a great weekend - 3 couples who didn't know each other, yet all getting along like old friends at the breakfast table. That's how we like it! Would love to see you back some time. Cheers, Adrienne and Garth

This B&B is excellent with very nice rooms, a separate guest lounge, and friendly helpful hosts. We had an unexpected afternoon tea and the breakfast was all you could want.

I have 3 detailed things I look for in a room: sufficient luggage racks, sufficient shelf space by the bathroom basin, and bedside lights that are actually good to read by. All of these were well met along with really good bed linen and plenty of space.

It was all good and highly recommended.

Thank you so much for such a positive review. As travellers ourselves, we try to think of the things which can be annoying in a room - and the reading lights are high on the list! Glad you enjoyed your stay here. Cheers, Adrienne and Garth

Delightful B&B, great (quiet) location just outside Thames at base of Coramandel Peninsula, easy access to all the peninsula has to offer within a day’s tour. Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean, delightful gardens with stunning view, delicious breakfast, with choices. Garth and Adrienne were great hosts (with excellent taste in music! 😂) Thanks for a delightful stay!

Welcoming hosts with afternoon tea on our arrival.
We had the end room which had a great view of the river and surrounds.
The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped.
After a couple of weeks in a motorhome it was heaven to have a strong hot shower and comfortable bed.
We were treated to a lovely plentiful hot breakfast which we enjoyed whilst sharing holiday stories with the other guests.
Highly recommend staying at Cotswold Cottage.

A lush room with generous facilities, a gorgeous view and congenial hosts with great attention to detail. Nicely located away from the main road with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy sunset and a spa pool to unwind in. Fresh home made fruit salad and muesli with a delicious cooked breakfast bring a great start to the day. Delightful.

Spent 2 nights at the Cottage. 2nd night as a result of the weather effecting our next destination. We were made extremely welcome by our hosts. The rooms individually opened up onto the wooden patio with a communal conservatory area which could be used to eat takeaways and sit together. The WiFi was good, the rooms very clean and well presented. Breakfast was great. A good choice of fried, continental and even pancakes. Big thank you to our hosts.

Adrienne & Garth are very welcoming and the room was really comfy. They give good advice on what to do around, lent us towels and spades for the hot water beach, and recommended places to eat at night. The cottage is up hill with an amazing view. And the breakfast is yummy too !

Good morning David. I'm assuming you mean are the cats allowed in the guest rooms, as cars are definitely not - they would not fit!! Our cats are not allowed in the rooms. I would, however, advise your wife to carry antihistamines with her on her travels, as I am sure that we will not be the only accommodation provider who has household pets. Could you please let us know the date of your stay, so that we can be extra vigilant when you arrive that our particularly friendly, welcoming cat is kept away. Many thanks, Adrienne and Garth

Good afternoon Cheryl, We do have availability on the night of Feb 18th, 2015. We have 2 rooms only - one is a queen room which would suit you and your husband. The other room can be converted in to twin beds, but would the brother and sister be happy about sharing a room? The cost of the rooms are: Neatherwood room (queen room with ensuite and spa bath) - $210.00 NZ Aynsome room (twin beds) - $180.00 NZ Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in booking the rooms, as it is still high season at that time, and we are getting booked out. Kind regards, Adrienne and Garth Familton
