3 mins drive north of Thames, driving along the coast road by the water. Great quiet spot, great for the fisherman, and for a family. Well appointed rooms. New Management, great Service, We will return.🤗

We arrived at about 7.30pm. It’s like the fridge, it looks good on the outside but there is nothing in it. Asked about some suggestions for dinner in town and the owner/ manager was not particularly helpful. Time for a shower and my partner said the shower water was going cold. My turn and yes the water was cold. Then on getting out I notice a sign telling me to space the showers twenty minutes apart due small tank. We had asked for slightly later check out given we arrived late and were not in a rush in the morning. Definitely not available. At 10.05am she came to tell us to get out as check out was 10am. We were packed ready to go. And there were other rooms waiting to be cleaned. Yep we left and based on our experience we will not recommend to others to go there. The owner/ manager needs to go to hospitality school.

Response from Duty Manager, Owner at Coastal Motor Lodge
Responded 7 Dec 2020
Attention Rob Young Just because you were not in a rush in the morning does not entitle you to change checkout times. I had told you the night before that we would not be able to let you stay longer, and why I gave you many places to eat the night prior, but you were in a rush and not particularly interested. Your room was available to you from 2pm, so there was no reason why you waited till 7.30pm to arrive, that was your choice Last not not least...Just because you did not enjoy your stay, does not give you the right to go into another room, find a cleaner and abuse her. This behaviour is bullying and totally un-acceptable.

Myself and three children stayed here last weekend. The rooms were spotless, kitchen functional and featured many little extras like wafers, plunger coffee (most appreciated) and body wash. The highlight for the kids was having SKY and free wifi. Walking across the road to the sea and being visited the next morning by the pheasant were added bonuses. Thank you for a lovely stay ( and allowing us to check in early - it was most appreciated by the very tired Mum).

Really can't recommend this motel highly enough. The owners are very professional and friendly, great welcome, I can't praise them enough, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean, fittings of a high standard, nothing is worn out or missing. We had the sea view studio and found them to be of a good size with plenty of living space, good size kitchen, and a big comfortable bed. You can actually see the sea from the room and the deck. This is somewhere I will certainly go back to as could not fault one thing.
