Right from our arrival we were impressed! Lovely lady owner greeted us with warmth and took us to our one bedroom unit.
The unit, although older style, would have to one of the most tastefully furnished motel rooms I have ever stayed in. Lots of thoughtful little touches abounded plus the decorations just made it seem very homely. It was lovely to be near the stream and listen to the birds from the small balcony out back. Extremely comfy king size bed and appreciated the ceiling fan in bedroom to keep the still air circulating. As it is set away from the commercial area we wondered about access to town for dinner. It was an easy 5 minute walk on a path beside the motel into town. Good range of TV channels available and wifi was great. Excellent shower with toiletries available. There are only 5 units here- 4 one bedroom and one studio. With close proximity to town and the hospital it is certainly a good choice when staying in Thames.

As others have said, this is a small older style motel which is owned and operated by a delightfully friendly couple. The one bedroom unit we stayed in was spacious and up to date with good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Lots of nice touches and scrupulously clean. Two wall heaters were on when we arrived and the TV had the promised full range of channels. Very short easy walk to town and restaurants (the Nakontong Thai restaurant was very good) but quiet and peaceful. Would strongly recommend.

A small and well appointed motel, tucked away just out of town but still walkable. Very clean and fresh looking. What impressed me was the size of the bed (super-kling) and the fact our unit had proper easy chairs. Not the dinky little rubbish we encountered in other motels.
The fascinating history of the place is explained in a compendium in the unit, and the hosts are very nice and helpful. Yvonne even switched on the heater before we arrived to make sure the unit was warm.

This was a lovely Motel. Very clean and spacious, we loved the one bedroom unit and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the sun with the sound of the stream in the background. The owner was very helpful, we have a big car and two bikes, which she very kindly allocated us two car parking spaces. This was somewhere we could happily stayed longer. Highly recommended.

We arrived (unbooked) on our road trip around the North Island and found this amazing wee place to stay. Just 5 units, but so special. The hosts are delightful and the unit was very, very clean, tidy and appealing. It had a real feeling of being at home. We loved the quiet, natural setting with the little brook tinkling away, the bush and the birds. We loved that we could walk for about 6 minutes and be right in town close to a whole lot of superb eateries. The tariff was very reasonable indeed. We came for one night but loved it so much, we stayed 3!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality, we will definitely be back soon.

Wonderful motel with a charming outlook and quiet location. Located a few minutes walk to the main street of Thames, close to restaurants and places of interest.

The room is a little delight; well appointed, very clean and it is lovely to listen to the sound of the stream running past the motel as you sit out on your own little balcony.

Without doubt my wife and I will be returning. Excellent value and lovely location.

We booked their small room as we were attending a function so didn't anticipate being in our room much. The small room was perfectly functional for our use. Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Great water pressure in the shower too!

Wonderful hosts, spacious spotless room, tasteful decorations, lovely view, heavenly bed and hot shower, tidy kitchenette with hotplate tea etc. Parking right out front. Tucked away in a very pretty side street with lots of beautiful vegetation, but only 5 min walk to main street. Super quiet, lovely stream gurgling out back. Hospital nearby so might get a bit of helicopter action if a case gets flown in, but disturbance minimal. Would definitely stay here again.

It's a great motel but two bikes in the room would be very compact. Owner very friendly and may have other bike charging options.
