Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The poor rating is given for the less than accurate hygiene in which the boxes are kept. Luckily for me I had the sheet bag with me and I was able to sleep peacefully but some friends who were with me had to scratch the abrasions caused by who knows what sting for several days. Suitable for one night.

Friendly staff, all of the facilities were really clean. I got some useful tips from the reception staff on spots to swim in the creek, and they were happy to take my details to look out for me when I was hiking solo to the Pinnacles summit.

Can’t fault it for the price of a bed in a shared dorm! Good location and a decent amount of options for cooking (oven, grill, hob, toaster, BBQs).

The avocado tree across from reception also was a great bonus - I was gutted that there weren’t any ripe enough to eat over the few days I stayed.

Thank you for sharing the goodness of the Holiday Parks Dorm system. Our staff here are what makes our park amazing, having a friendly face sure makes a busy trip that much better. I am so glad you felt safer on your pinnacles journey with them looking out for you, I am going to chat with them and let them know how pleased I am they did this for you. Thank you for sharing your positive review, it was a pleasure having a wonderful guest like yourself.

The owners are lovely and down to earth. Elena took the time to help us find a place that suits our needs best. The park is beautiful, surrounded by trees and hills, plus the Tararu river goes right through, ending with a gorgeous waterhole inside the park.
We only needed a place to stay and ended up having an incredibly enjoyable time, and can't wait to come back and check out the hiking trails nearby. Totally worth it:)

Elena is truly a heart lead owner showing this in how she operates this Holiday Park. Thank you so much for mentioning. Elena the owner, really makes sure guests are looked after she takes it personally and really loves how our guests immerse themselves in the nature all around. The waterhole is truly a asset to the gorgeous natural park. Thank you for sharing your review, we are privileged custodians of this beautiful park. Everyone is welcome that loves nature and needs to reset.

We thought we would see how the new owners had changed the camp after the old owners had lost interest in it. And the new owners are no better!! The standard of cleanliness in the ablution block did not exist. They should read their own signs in there Toilets stunk no replacement towels etc

The interesting point I would like to share is bathroom cleaning schedule has changed and so have the cleaners we have great reliable people now which makes us happy also our customers, also we have paper towels in bathroom so everyone has a fresh towel. Thank you for your review I think it makes us better.

A very popular old school Holiday camp site. We stay there often. Clean, tidy and eco friendly. Great location to township and coastal beaches. Management are friendly. Cleaning staff are efficient and helpful. Well be going back to stay this summer as well. The swimming pool is clean and a definite bonus in for an evening swim after all day at the beach.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to give this super low review, and cannot recommend this Holiday Park to anyone staying more then one night and using the Holiday Park as a pass through traveling up the Thames Coast. My family and I have been using this Holiday Park regularly for 20 years and twice in 2023 we have had to tolerate rude, entitled and incompetent customer service from Lisa with her "what you see is what you get" attitude (yes Lisa actually said this), we are unable to further tolerate in the future.
#1 Tip for the Holiday Park is Lisa as first point of contact has to go!
Four nights stay in Caravan D at $120.00 per night (peak season)
Unpowered tent sight on a flat level section $60.00 per night, next to the Pioneers Kitchen.
Holiday Park was not busy over peak season.
Car parks available.

I think I will let customers decide Lisa's customer service, since you are naming and trying to shame this person. We have had no complaints at all. (until today) Lisa was under camera the whole time, we saw no issues. The situation was quite complex when you arrived and quite confusing to any staff member having a customer go into their room without checking in. Our policy has been since running the park for 1.5 years payment then entrance, that might of been why you were met with concern. We asked about what happened and we are satisfied with how Lisa conducted herself and other staff had the room very tidy for your needs. You booked a Caravan with a Annex (5 birth) We hope you were as cozy as all our other guests in this lovely retro caravan. Our unpowered sites start at $40.00 and $20 for extra adults and $10 for extra children. It has been a lovely busy summer, thank you for your review.
