We stayed on a Sunday night, so it was not busy and it was quiet. We had an executive king studio with spa bath. The bath was only small, but the room was clean and comfortable. Nice touch with the mini bar and snacks in the room. Excellent value for money and walking distance to the square. We'll definitely stay again if we are ever in Palmy!
Had a few reservations about booking this place. The Motels website is pretty basic and aged, and the photos were really poor. The Motel is located on one of Palmeys main drag. Negative is that it is a busy road, especially with Boy Racers and the like (hard to escape it in Palmey really). Positive is that it is super close to everything. Walking distance to The Square, The Plaza Shopping Centre, PakNSav, Burger King, lots of good restaurants and cafes. Guy at Reception was extremely friendly, super awesome Customer Service. Super easy check in, with complimentary fresh fruit and lollies offered. Good directions upstairs to the room. Was really surprised to find a large, spacious end unit, with lovely views over the leafy street. Big bed, with crisp clean linen, couple of easy chairs and a 2 seater dining table. Small Kitchenette. Bathroom was small, but had a Spa Bath, with overhead shower. The place is dated, but not in a horrid way, Its really comfortable and clean. Plus lots of little touches make the experience even better - - Fresh Fruit and Lollies offered at Check In - No horrid UHT milk, Proper Fresh Milk here. In a little glass bottle, and only $1 for a top up if needed -Room has a little 'Snack Bar' and the prices are really reasonable, like $2 for a can of soft drink or a chocolate bar. -Well stocked Tea/Coffee tray with a couple of packets of little biscuits. -Full Sky TV with record and pause -Proper Heat Pump Apart from the noisey boy racers, I didnt hear much of the road noise, or other guests. It's a small car park, but there seems to be enough parking for the amount of units the Motel has. The only thing I can fault the place on is both the Bedside lamps had blown lightbulbs, annoying, but certainly a very minor thing. A very pleasant find here in Palmerston North, and I will definitely return. Customer Service was brilliant, rooms were clean, functional and comfortable. Paid $135 for the night, and I am pretty happy with the value for money. …
excellent room , we got room 16 and it was super spacious clean and tidy, the cooked breakfast was huge and great value for money, would definately recommend to others, well located to shops and eateries
Called to book in person, very friendly and helpful. Lovely on arrival, offered free fruit and lollies. Booked a king studio. Very modern and clean. Although kettle wouldn't fit in the sink to fill, so needed to use a cup for this. Updated small bathroom with toilet and shower, with supplied soap, body wash and shampoo/conditioner. Warm and quiet rooms, especially since on the main road. The outside is definately a character but I was presently surprised how nice the room was, especially since the room cost was competitive. Would definately stay here again.
So the people running the place are super nice and they offer free fruit so all else is irrelevant. But for real the room was very comfortable and clean, it even has plunger coffee for the real dogs out there. Plus it's a castle.
