The Coachman impress the moment you walk in. Beautiful wooden staircase, huge fireplace at bar and what about the big white baby grand at reception. Awesome! Rooms were warm and great bathrooms. The full breakfast was very tasty.

Old world decor, but very comfortable with pillows to die for. Basement parking with automatic doors, helpful when wheeling luggage. Good quality bathrooms and the best part, the Queen beds ARE REAL queen beds. No twins joined with that awful seam running down the middle. Would I stay here again, absolutely.

I had a motel unit it was very spacious, it would be good to have plunger coffee. The heating was excellent. A good breakfast, lovely fresh bread.Handy to have a kitchenette. There is plenty parking. The staff are friendly.

The hotel staff was great and te breakfast was fantastic. We were on the third floor. The room was spacious and neat. The restroom was modernised nicely, though the shower door doesn't really keep the water in - and the bathroom floor was soaked. The bed was very comfortable despite the room's dated appearance. Parking is available for free both...

Spacious room, comfortable bed with pillow choices and great breakfast included. Staff are pleasant and there is a lift. We like the classic décor and the good size bathrooms. Will continue to use this reliable accommodation. Thank you.

Stayed here previously with the Tour of NZ bike race in 2013 and thought the place to be reasonable. Here again with the race 2017 and not so impressed this time. It seems there is a wide range of rooms available and this one wasn't so great. (Motel room block nearest the hotel ?room 19?) I know beige is the...

Stayed two nights in this hotel. The rooms are adequate with an iron and ironing board. A nice selection of drinks and snacks in the mini bar. Plenty of parking under ground and above. Reception staff friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant that have some yummy tasting food.

Arrived mid evening after a very long day of travel. Quick check in,(and check out) friendly staff, comfortable bed and restaurant stays open until 9.30 which suited us with a late arrival. It's not 5 star but certainly very comfortable and fits in nicely to the overall area. Nothing at all to complain about and, would stay there again when next...

The Coachman is a favourite hotel when visiting Palmerston North. It is comfortable if slightly old fashioned. This time we found reception a bit unfriendly - two young women receptionists could not be bothered to answer when we said hello as we passed by on two occasions. The room was nice but lighting was very poor for reading when sitting...

Stayed here for one night when our camping trip was cut short due to stormy weather. Was pleasantly surprised by the $99 tariff for two adults and one child. Room was clean and well maintained, even though a little bit dated.
