Highly recommend staying here. Cameron, your host is extremely accommodating making a very relaxing atmosphere on a stressful couple of days.
If you have family staying in hospital at Palmerston North the Braemar is within walking distance. With cafes a few minutes walk away and other amneities near by.
The room was clean, roomy, the kitchen amazingly well equipped.

Avery pleasant stay. very clean with comfortable bed. Had everything we required for our stay. Very friendly welcome on arrival and again at the time of check out ... It is situated on a busy road so the front units can be a little nosy however once the door is closed not a problem. YES, we would stay here again and for NZD160.00 per night book direct it is excellent valve. thank you .

The bed were very comfy,. We felt that they must be fairly new. The bedding was also of very good quality. Unit was clean and not cramped, Braemar Lodge is in a good location, not far from the town square. Lovely staff. Nice owners and we will stay again. Heating was turned on for us in advance which was very much appreciated.
Good value for money. Everything you need.

What a lovely quiet clean (very clean) motel. Our unit (11) had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, easy to use kitchen, large TV and an excellent bathroom. This was the cleanest motel we have been in for a long time. Excellent location and lovely hosts.

Thank you Julia for accommodating us at the last minute and late into the evening. Your establishment is wonderfully appointed, incredibly clean and well maintained. Next time we come through Palmerston North we will stay longer and make use of your jacuzzi bath!!!

Just 2 nights here on the way to Wellington.

Very inexpensive

Spotlessly clean.

Comfy bed.

Good sized room with a spa bath.

Helpful staff.

Quite a walk into the city centre (20 mins) but all flat, so not too arduous.

No problems at all really.👍

We always stay at the Braemar when we visit Palmerston North, and have always loved the accommodation offered. This time, a very polite Asian lady greeted us on arrival, and told us the motel had been sold. No worries, until I saw her produce a little jug of milk instead of the usual 1/2 litre container we were used to. After a 9 hour dirve this meant we had to go out again to buy milk, as she only gave us enough for 2 coffees that evening. Only a little thing but..... Then I went to have my treat - a spa bath!!!! I looked around the bathroom and there was no soap or any other little toiletries. There was however, two containers attached to the shower wall marked "Shampoo" and "Shower gel". How was I meant to lather up in my tub? I managed to squeeze some of the shower gel onto a flannel, and took that with me to the bath. I sat there soaking, wondering why I was so upset at not being able to put my usual little bottles of bubble bath in the tub, and then use a nice little cake of soap. It's those little things that you enjoy when you stay at a motel. I then spotted some blood stains on the bottom of the bathroom door. I sank lower into the tub and wondered just how clean it actually was. That night we retired to our King size bed, and immediately rolled together to the middle. It wasn't a king size bed, but two super singles sewn togther. When my husbabd sneezed I thought there was an earth-quake - not a comfortable bed at all.
Also, it was very cold that night, but because the heater was on a timer (only worked for one hour then turned off), this meant that all night we had to keep getting up and turning the heater on again to keep warm. More cost cutting that weren't appreicated by us.
In the morning, the sun shone through the front door to reveal cooking oils and stains above the bench tops running down the walls. My husband is tall, and he got some hot soapy water and washed the wall. It looked better.
The usual coffe plunger was there, so I looked for my complimentary coffee beans to plunge. Alas, none were there. Another cost cutter.
So as you can see, we will not be staying again unforutanately. I would not mind paying a little extra so those "little extras" could be included. And the room needs a thorough clean -top to bottom.
I have to say the lady at the desk was polite, and bubbly.... She is doing her job well, but the Motel let us down. A real same....

Great place to stay and great location.host was just charming, would probably stay in a dump if she was the host.Showed us to our room which was a nice extra touch.Room was very, very clean, couldn't find any fault there.Decor great, modern and up to date.Bed very comfortable.Loved the bathroom, shower would be great for wheelchair access. It was the little touches like decent tea bags, also hot chocolate, plenty of towels, these may be minor items but we feel they do make a difference.Like a lot of motels this one has done away with the little sachets of shampoo etc.Like seperate recycling bin too.Plan to return later in the year. One of our better experiences.
