Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our family of five booked two rooms for three nights over the school holidays.

Communication from Drovers was excellent and immediate.

We appreciated that although we arrived very late, this was taken care of.

Everything was clean, modern and comfortable. It had everything we needed/ wanted and nothing we didn't.

With an inner courtyard, parking was easy, secure and plentiful. Considering the city location on a main thoroughfare, we found it quiet.

Conveniently, there is an excellent cafe (the Cooperage) for breakfast every morning pretty much across the road, New World only a few hundred metres away, two petrol stations (Z on the opposite corner open till 10pm or pay at the pump gas all night, or the manned 24- hour Caltex a little bit further).

There are two wheelchair accessible rooms. The bathrooms are mirrors of each other which I found convenient as one orientation suits my disabled person better than the other. The Forest and Bird toiletries are a nice touch, and the bathroom worked well for us.
One room had just a king sized bed, and the other a queen and a single. The beds were really comfy. The hoist (to lift the disabled person) did not quite fit under the bed although it was close, so I did have to put the 'elephant feet' (that I have for the purpose) underneath to lift the bed. I did have to push the hoist from the hard floor surface in the kitchenette area up onto the carpeted area around and under the bed, but it wasn't too difficult.

Altogether, we were extremely surprised at the bargain basement price. I wonder that it was too cheap and might put some people off.... so I can confirm its a good standard and well worth more than the price.

All the normal amenities- decent sized Smart TV, heat pump, silent fridge (yay) etc. I did notice that there wasn't a heater in the bathroom which would be a severe deprivation for my disabled person in the winter but was no problem in January.

We stayed over Christmas and what a fabulous place, spotless, the guy on the reception is lovely, dishwasher, cook top, Samsung washer and dryer, my hubby who is a builder was very impressed with everything. No vaccine pass required as no bar or restaurant so Copthorne missed out on $600, glad too because we loved Quest, few mins walk to the mall and close to supermarkets. Perfect!!

We were in Palmerston Nth for a birthday celebration and stayed in unit 9 on the ground floor. The large bed was the most comfortable we have ever experienced in a motel. The unit was very clean and well stocked with tea, coffee etc, and a bottle of milk in the fridge. Soap and shampoo in the large bathroom. We could not have been more comfortable and will be back to stay in January when we come to Palmy for a wedding. Can highly recommend this motel. Thanks to the management.

I’ll admit I am difficult to impress when it comes to accommodation. Drovers Motor Inn has impressed us. From check-in where the host knew my name when I walked in, yes she had an inkling from my booking but she still made the effort to remember. We were upgraded as we were the last to check in for the night. There was a bottle of milk and chocolate in the fridge, no plastic. On to the bathroom, wall soap dispensers and little PAPER packets of shampoo etc. I hadn’t realised when I booked that this place was a non-single use plastic business. Impressed already. One more test for me was the extractor fans, an indicator of a clean place is the extractor fans, everyone forgets them, not Drovers. The bathroom extractor fan cover was clean, everything was spotless. We went out all day the next day and came back to the room serviced, again I didn’t expect this as we were staying two nights. I can’t rave enough about this place. Highly recommend and we will go back.

Got a lovely professional greeting via phone as we were struggling to find accommodation anywhere on Palmerston due to a huge government conference being in town . The owner Paul was professional & helpful.
The 2 bedroom unit had 2 bathrooms also , the room was spotless (well done to the clean team ) & a pleasure to stay in , It’s so great to stay in a motel who have not taken the obscene money offered from this government and kept it a clean pleasant tidy professional & SAFE accommodation.
DEFINITELY recommended .
Thank you so much for a good stay - keep up the good work!

Had an urgent job in Palmerston North. Right in the middle of level 4 lockdown.

Second time I’ve stayed in the last 6 months.
Service exceptional.
Added bonus.. offered meals, breakfast and dinner delivered to your room... not bad when there are que’s at the supermarket and no takeaways or restaurants open anywhere.

Facilities are superb, showers, beds, kitchen etc. VERY clean and tidy, excellent service.
Brand new hosts/owners in the process of taking over, what timing!!!
Well done keep it up I’ll be back when next in Palmerston North. 👍👍

We weren't here except to sleep and have breakfast, but the beds were comfy and the place was nice and clean with everything you need - milk in the fridge and a heat-pump for warmth. The guy at the front desk was lovely. Very good value for money.

Very friendly on arrival. Excellent spacious studio unit. Very clean and well laid out. Amenities better than many major hotels I’ve stayed in. Good lighting, lots of plug points, and quiet. Close to supermarkets. Good pressure in shower and lots of towels.
