Detailed Reviews
The motel is easy to find in Palmerston being right by the Arena and is walking distance to cafes and restaurants. That said, our unit had a really well kitted out kitchen so we could cook for ourselves. The place was immaculately kept and cleaned and the guy who checked us in was really friendly - even fishing our Yorkshire teabags for his English guests. It was a perfect motel stop.

Was a last minute trip and checked in earlier without an issue. Was upgraded to a bigger room and was perfect as had 2 last minute guests coming later, not an issue paid the extra person charges $70 and were off to view room.
Location great with parking near rooms. Self contained 2 bedroom spa bath unit on ground floor near reception.
Was worth it for the price. Amenities provided were all perfect! Full fridge/freezer with cooking element and microwave- was perfect for quick trips where takeouts are usually the meal of the day so option for quick reheats was welcoming!
Room had maps/dining options etc which were helpful.
A seperate laundry room with washer/dryer available for guest use.
Enjoyed our stay at this establishment and if ever another opportunity to visit Palmy will be back here!

Great Motel in a quiet part of town. Very Spacious, well appointed with everything you might need including pots and pans etc. if you felt inclined to dine in.
What really stood out for me was just how exceptionally clean and well maintained the room was - the quality and attention to detail far surpassed the room we recently stayed in at a well known 5 Star "Luxury Resort Style" Hotel in Taupo. I would definitely stay at Arena Lodge again next time I am heading to Palmerston North - are you opening a motel anytime soon in Taupo??

Very clean, tidy comfortable room. We were 3 adults and without us asking they put another single bed in the room so one of us didn't have to sleep on the fold out sofa bed. Great location, great service and very quiet. Will definitely stay again - highly recommended.

I just had the one night here. It was about 15 minute walk to the center square. room itself was fine, reasonably modern, with a good shower area. Room was not huge, but not small, wifi was good,
I found the bed to be extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Heater only, no air conditioning.
Basic kitchenette but all that was needed.

We stayed here for 3 nights on one of the accessible units. It was well set up with 2 single beds but we did have to put our raisers under one bed to get enough height for the hoist. The bathroom worked well and had all that was required in a fully accessible shower.
We appreciated the quiet street so close to town. Travelers need to be aware though that when a sports event is on this motel and street will be very busy.
We appreciated the excellent hosts and the helpful service.
This motel is one of the few that really is accessible.

I always try to stay here when I am in Palmerston North, the only downside is that I can't always get a booking, it's too popular I guess.
Brent and Stephanie are fantastic hosts, it feels like a home away from home when I stay there they make me feel so welcome.
The rooms are clean and modern, the internet access is good and reasonably priced, the location is handy, what more could you want? This would always be my #1 choice in Palmerston North. No Question

We spent three nights at this lovely lodge in a one-bedroom unit, and were very impressed with the great service, spotless accommodation, spacious, beautifully decorated unit. The owner/hosts were very friendly and helpful. Close to supermarket, which was important to us. We highly recommend this lodge to everyone!

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Arena Lodge. I received a lovely welcome and was made to feel a special guest. Great attention to detail and transport booked to and from the Lodge.
Spacious room furnished to a high standard. I would thoroughly recommend the Arena Lodge to one and all.
