Wish I had read the reviews before booking this place. The list of negatives is huge so here goes. When we arrived the place looked unloved, long lawns and messy gardens, not a good first impression. No one in office either, automated check in. On entering, the unit was smelly and unclean. From marks on the lounge wall (looked like faeces) to chipped paint on the kitchen cupboards, mismatched chairs, ripped curtains, broken window joinery, no smoke alarm in the lounge, dings in the walls, ants crawling up the wall, ill fitting wardrobe door, different light bulbs in bathroom which didn't work anyway, toilet that dripped continuously and near flat batteries in the TV remotes. Also the unit layout was different from that advertised. There was 1 x UHT milk in the fridge for 3 people for 2 nights, when questioned, apparently this is all they provide for the duration of your stay!! It didn't even do 1 coffee. Luckily there is a BP across the road to purchase milk which should be provided. There was also very little toilet paper provided and the shampoo/hand wash was also very low. The manager walked around in trackpants, very unprofessional, and none of the cleaners made eye contact or even spoke, that says it all really. Only redeeming feature, the shower had excellent pressure, that's why I gave it 1 star as opposed to 0 stars. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!! Up ya game. Disgraceful.

WORST PLACE EVER - DISGUSTING stayed here for 4 nights too long!!! They say it is serviced - they change the towels (which some of them are stained), they make beds if nothing is on bed but that’s a lie as beds were never made, lack of toilet paper and certainly would provide your own bacterial hand wash!!!! Property is badly maintained - ripped curtains - wondered why it was cold in the main bedroom - window was broken, holes in wall, sesame seeds over bedspread on single bed when we arrived - main bedspread badly stained - we would have moved but no alternative accomodation available so we were stuck. I doubt that they would have many return visitors!!!

We stayed for the weekend as we had travelled down for a family function. We arrived late on a Friday night. The after hours check in was great and worked well, they had also turned on the heater in our room as requested by me as we were arriving late with young kids. Good impressions so far but that’s where it stopped. Once we had the kids in bed we discovered a bathroom that had not been cleaned since the last guests, black hair covered the floor, vanity and bath. The shower curtain also had hair on it as well as mould. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed the table looked dirty. We are pretty sure the beds were clean and hoped they were as we climbed in. Reception didn’t open until 1pm....(why so late???) so I couldn’t voice my concerns first thing in the morning. My next best bet was to email reception with my pics I had taken at 10pm the previous evening. My email was returned with a call from the owner while we were out. While he was very apologetic, every excuse under the sun came out about why it was left so dirty. Unfortunately in these “Covid” times and travelling with young kids, no excuse for poor hygiene is good enough. I asked for the room to have a deep clean while we were out for lunch which it looked like they tried.... but unfortunately not hard enough, our kids found open chip packets under the bed and thought about helping them selves! Lucky we were on hand to stop them. The walls were paper thin so maybe for a not so relaxing evening listening to next doors dinner conversations. I have followed up again with the owner but haven’t heard back. Great location but we have been put off.

Stayed for two nights over a weekend in January. We chose this place because it was cheap, and I had read the reviews, so we got what we expected. The Pavilion Motel does the basics right, but don't anything special. We found the facilities to be tidy but tired. Everything in the unit functioned well though. A car park is provided. The grounds were nice - there was a picnic table and lawn area that we used. The location is a positive. Within walking distance of the Esplanade. Close to town. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Down side was the paper thin walls meant you could hear a lot through the walls. Probably not good if you are a light sleeper or have children.
