I had a wonderful stay at the Aubyn Court Motel. Janelle & Selby were super welcoming and lovely. Was treated with a Speights, Chips & a Kit Kat upon arrival which was such a nice touch. I stayed in a Spa Access Studio which was fantastic! Absolutely spotless and extremely spacious unit, great sized kitchen and the in room spa was amazing! There was an abundance of towels and personal products which was great. Bed was very comfortable and had an quiet and excellent nights sleep. Very handy central location can walk anywhere CBD in 5 mins. It was superb value for money and will certainly be staying again when I'm in town next. Highly recommend.

Owners were super friendly on arrival. Room clean and spacious. Breakfast really good and delivered to the room. Great central location. Lots of parking. Lovely roomy spa bath. Nothing seemed too much trouble from the new owners, who went out of their way to make you feel welcome.

We have stayed at Aubyn Court Spa Motel several times and always intended to put up a review.
This motel is spotless and the reception staff always friendly. The tariff is very reasonable for the very large motel room with huge spa.
It is the perfect place for us to stay when travelling between Tauranga and Masterton/Wellington. Across the road is a Countdown Supermarket and a mall with a food hall, everything is on your doorstep.
We look forward to visiting again after the lockdown

I am a visiting Australian businessman. On the night before I was due to check in to this hotel, at 7.30pm , I tested positive to COVID 19.
Although I had many things to arrange, I had to notify the NZ government, arrange additional accommodation, advise family, friends and any close contacts, but by 9pm this hotel was requested to cancel my next two nights accommodation as I was required to remain where i was , in another city, and self isolate.
Despite this they placed a $350 cancellation fee on my credit card. They have requested emails so everything is in writing and they will "take it from there". It is now the following Saturday midday and the bill remains on my credit card.
This seems a most unreasonable impost on people doing the right thing and obeying the legal requirements , who are already disadvantaged through significant additional financial, health and well being costs of isolation.

After long drive with daughter and a 6 yr old couldn't wait to just get keys to room and relax. Unfortunately had to go to office first to be confronted by a absolute spud who told us I needed my credit card details for what I don't know as money had already been taken out of my account prior. Didn't have my card on me just to be told we cannot stay even though he had the card details right in front of him.I have always stayed at this place always the people so nice until I came across a very rude no people skilled man Dont run a motel if you don't like people will never stay again the place seemed so run down from the last time I visited. So if you want to feel spoken down to and told you need a two hundred bond after paying up front or you can't stay this is the place

Hi - sorry that you felt that I was rude to you, that was not my intention. It is our strict policy that we must have some form of security for bookings, this generally means a valid credit card (not a debit) or a cash bond. This is communicated in various parts of the booking process depending on how you have booked & included in our terms & conditions. If you have booked on Booking.com or Expedia we also send an email with this information as well. If you have booked through Expedia or Booking.com you may have paid them with your credit card but we do not get that information from them, hence why we ask for it separately. We do not try by any means to make the checking in process difficult as we totally understand that traveler's feel that they have "arrived" & just want to relax BUT checking in & the processes that go with that must be completed before we can hand over the keys.

We used to use this motel every time we visited family in Palmerston North (lock downs permitting).
At check-in time the couple managing the motel on reception weren't wearing masks. In a subsequent conversation when we left, (again with the manageress not wearing a mask) we were told the managers didn't believe in vaccinations, and wouldn't be vaccinated.
Until the pandemic is over we'll be staying elsewhere

We have stayed here many times and written positive reviews. However, this time it seemed like Aubyn Court might be providing emergency accommodation. There was a fight in the next room at 2am that lasted for a long time, then they jumped in the spa pool at 4am. The people did not look like tourists.

Hi - as I replied to the other review that you did on Expedia, first up, why did you not come & ask us this question & receive the answer before putting your assumption onto a public platform? No we do not or never have, accepted emergency housing bookings, we are not registered with WINZ as a provider. I am also disappointed that you did not let us know about the disruption you encountered either while it was happening so we could do something about it (instruction on what to do if you have a noise disturbance are given in several different places) or in morning, we were left totally unaware until your online review. I am not sure what you mean about "the people not looking like tourists", we don't only have tourists come stay at our property we also cater for domestic tourism & a large proportion of corporate & event travellers. We take pride in trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible & are sorry that this was not the case for you in this instance, but in reality we can't do anything about it if we do not know there is a problem.

Nice breakie, clean room, good service! The room was very well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Water pressure in shower was good and room had spa bath. Microwave and two element bench hob, frypan.

Choose somewhere else. After a weeks stay we asked for a half an hour extra check out as we had something planned. It was a flat ‘no’ Everything was a problem - not the kiwi hospitality we are used to .
Place was noisey and not very clean. Mold in bathroom and in the week we stayed never vacuumed. Won’t be back.

Hi Patrick - I am very sorry that you felt this way about your stay with us, we generally pride ourselves on our friendly service, warm welcome & cleanliness so your review gives us pause to look at where this went wrong in your case. We do apologise for the fact that we were unable to accommodate your request for a late check-out, there are some days when this is just not possible due to the workload on the housekeeping team to get the rooms turned around & ready for the next guests to check-in. The mold spots in the bathroom has now been taken care of & we don't normally vacuum during a daily room service unless it is deemed necessary (your room must have been nice & tidy!!). Please next time let us know if you are not happy with anything, we could quite easily have vacuumed & we would have taken care of the mold.

Myself, husband and 3.5 year old spent 2 nights over Easter here. Absolutely loved our stay at this motel. Lovely and clean room with a big spa bath, unlimited wifi and in an amazing location close to everything we needed. Had yummy eggs Benedict for breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.
