Detailed Reviews
The room was very outdated. A reno had been done on bathroom and water was hot with good pressure. The bed however was comfy and i slept well -being in a room right down the back from the street noise. I ordered room service from their restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The steak was great!

Good location. Unfortunately room 15's heater and electric blanket did not work. The room was cold. Restaurant on site, convenient for tired travellers. Parking right in front of room. Reasonable room rate. It was okay for a night's stay.

Saw the sign 'Under New Management' - and thought I would give it another go. I travel about once a month through regional victoria and was pleased to meet new owners Tom and Amelia! Lots of new changes have been made including amazing food in the restaurant (I had the Rib-eye) and left in the morning with a fantastic take-away latte! Apparently Austar is on the way and the free wireless broadband was a bonus. The rooms are clean and good value - and the proximity to the Botanical Gardens cant be beaten for a pre-brekkie jog! Will be back next month!

The Botanical is a nice motel in a country town.
Its rooms are modern and clean, and that's my main requirement when traveling into rural areas.
The rooms in many motels in country towns are dark and dated, but the Botanical's appear to undergone a relatively recent refurbishment with bright and airy rooms and bathrooms and a comfortable bed.
The hotel is well located, a block back from Hamilton's main street, and Jeff and Lyn are great hosts with a warm reception on arrival.
You can also grab a beer or wine at the bar before dinner.

The room was clean. Phone was not working. No microwave oven, there is a 'community microwave' in the laundry at the back of the motel. I had to ask for a toaster for the room. There is no cutlery or crockery in the room, and some plastic utensils and paper plates out with the microwave in the laundry.
I wouldn't stay here again, I thought they might have provided a better service for their customers.

A week or two ago my partner and I made a booking for an overnight stay at Comfort Inn Botanical in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia for Friday the 2nd of July 2021 because we wanted to enjoy a meal at your restaurant as it was our last night of holidays and wanted a really special evening.
To make sure we had a table for dinner we did the right thing and included a special request for restaurant booking for 2 in our room booking via the Choice Hotels website. It was really clear, straightforward and stood out in our confirmation. Great, all set.
10 minutes prior to our arrival this afternoon we receive a voicemail from your reception telling us that they had completely missed reading the request in our booking for a table for 2. They actually said that they had missed it.
So much for putting in a guest request and for someone taking the time to read and act on that request in a timely manner.
They went on to say that the restaurant was fully booked and we had the option of:
1) Eating at the bar
2) Room Service
3) Or they were happy for us to wait in the bar until a table left.
Not our intended way to spend our last night on holidays after the recent lockdown.
The crowning glory was the way the voicemail ended with “Anyhow, when you come in, be prepared for a discussion”.
What the’ ???? Be prepared for a discussion? Great hospitality and service attitude. I have never heard a more in-your-face conclusion to a voicemail, especially one admitting fault by a service vendor.
When we arrived we found no more interest or desire in taking steps to honour our week-long booking. Maybe contact a booking of shorter tenure end decline their booking?
The fact that your motel and the attached restaurant are as you put it “two separate entities” means nothing to me and makes no excuse for you getting it wrong and then turning into a problem for your customer.
“Be prepared for a discussion”!?!?
After such a poor show we said no thanks and took our accommodation and $$$ elsewhere.
If this is how Choice properties are run we shall not be booking at any property any time soon.

Stayed in the Queen Room - very clean and cosy. Nice bathroom with excellent shower. However the best was yet to come! The motel restaurant was outstanding. The owner/manager managed to get us in it was very heavily booked. Service, food, the vibe was fabulous!

Stayed one night with extended family from interstate and overseas. Rooms are clean and spacious. Reception was so welcoming that each member of our party commented. Food in the on site restaurant was delicious and good wines. Important stuff as far as I’m concerned. We had booked 4 rooms and found no issue with paying for them all on separate credit cards which is more than I can say for some of the other places we stayed at on our trip. All in all, a great little motel in a very convenient location to enjoy the sights of Hamilton.

Clean comfortable beds, hot and strong shower that's all I need but it also has a TV and all the usual amenities. It's a well located travellers hotel for short stays. The new showers are nice and the office staff were good communicators about after hours check in very helpful in general.

No longer a comfort hotel. I have stayed here a few times for work and it was reasonable. Under new management and I will not be returning. Room was clean and the hotel is central but the large sliding window was not lockable and could be easily slid open from the outside. Management did not seem to feel that was a problem.
