I booked here because their website and listings onTripAdvisor and booking.com all said they offered room service and breakfast in the room. I was very disappointed to be told when I asked for the menu that they no longer do this. I was told this is because of covid. Which is understandable but geez, covid has been around for 2 years now, update your website and all the hotel booking sites! I would not have made the booking had I known this.
Other services their website says they provide that they don't are: DVD player, in room movies, clock radio, mini bar. The wifi password in the information booklet in the room was incorrect. Milk is not supplied in the rooms. You have to ask for it, so bear this in mind late at night. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as they only supply a combined shampoo/conditioner/body wash.
Bed was comfortable but pillows were thin so I would suggest taking your own. Location is quiet. The walls of the motel are very thin, so you can hear any noise that goes on in adjacent rooms. The rooms were extremely clean, a good size with a couch and were nicely decorated.
If you are looking for a basic place to stay that is clean and roomy with no other services you won't be disappointed. However if you're looking for additional advertised services you will be let down.

A little way out of the main city centre but in a lovely spot close to the lake. We received a warm welcome and check in was easy. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, table, chairs and a sofa. Well appointed with a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. WiFi was fast, water was hot and parking directly outside the unit. The area is quiet too. For breakfast we had poached eggs on toast delivered to our room. They were cooked perfectly and came on warmed plates. Reasonably priced property and we would certainly stay again.

Hopefully when the renovations are finished the motel may look a little better. Our room was in the middle of being renovated. Tiling sealant. caulking gun, bucket, etc were left at the entrance to our room and there was a strong smell of grout/glue in the room. The only bench in the room was a folding trestle table and there wasn't an iron or ironing board. The motel was advertised as having a BBQ but the only one we saw was a small, old Webber style leaning against a wall in the car park. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and clean. The lady at reception was friendly and helpful. We had paid when we booked but the records didn't show this upon our arrival so she had to track down the owner to check we had actually paid. Overall the motel feels like a first time business owner who is trying their best on a limited budget. I felt the room cost may have been fair for the finished product but not in its current state. I wouldn't stay here again.

Husband stayed here early September was then charged $300 for cleaning after apparently smoking in room. He doesn't even smoke inside at home
He travels often for work and this has never been treated like this.
Asked for photos for proof they can't even supply photos.

Due to an unfortunate circumstance, my cat and I were in urgent need of overnight accommodation. Budget on the Lake accepted a late booking, graciously agreed to house cat and human, and could not have been kinder or more helpful.
Sure the rooms are small, but they’re well-designed, comfortable and clean. The chocolate and white tones are soothing, the shower is hot and the bed extremely comfortable. More comfortable than many a more expensive hotel I’ve stayed in.
Budget on the Lake has the basics down pat, with an extra dollop of that country kindness which makes all the difference.

Check in very good. Room was very comfortable and reasonable price. Nice quite area. Close to Lake and short distance to street and hospital. Staff very helpful. Additional requests were accommodated with a prompt and friendly smile. Bed very comfortable.

We booked last minute as we were passing through Hamilton with our dog & struggling to find somewhere to stay. The managers at the time were relief managers & were delightfully helpful. The room was clean, modern (recently updated?) and comfortable. We slept well & I'd happily recommend this motel as a good budget conscious option.

Reception ok, room itself was clean & tidy but below par for the price. Location convenient to our needs. Central to Hamilton and easy access to everything. Room cabinetry in need of an upgrade. Parking in front of our room was a tight fit for our 4 wheel drive vehicle.

When you book this hotel you know you aren't going to a 5 star hotel. This place is great if you need to be in Hamilton for a couple of nights.
When you are paying for a motel all you want it to be is clean, and it definitely was clean! I was impressed by the cleanliness plus you get free WiFi!
I slept well as the rooms were not noisy, plus it was the middle of winter so had the heater blasting and did not feel cold at all either.

This motel has recently changed hands. The new managers are pleasant and very helpful. They are refurbishing the motel to more modern standards, however all the equipment worked satisfactorily.My wife and I stayed there in March 2012.
