Detailed Reviews
On Monday, most restaurants are closed in Hamilton but the Grand Central is a safe bet. My salmon was well cooked and the accompanying veggies were stir fried, fresh and not over cooked. My partner's potato pizza needed more flavour such as prosciutto and the lemon meringue tart wasn't worth the calories. No atmosphere that night but may pick up if busier. The best part were the attentive and very friendly staff! Couldn't help but put a smile on your face.

Ordered seafood Crepe from the lunch special menu. The seafood crepe portion was tiny. The meal was luke warm along with the chips. To top everything off you get a card surcharge on every transaction be it cash cheque or credit.

Looks like a Family friendly place, yet so unfriendly. Won't be back anytime soon. There are much nicer places in Hamilton for lunch or dinner. Food is not great either and staff obviously don't like their job. When you order it feels like they do you a favour... Disappointed big time

Had lunch there and it was great. I am coeliac and the staff were so helpful. Food was delicious. Couple of choices for deserts as well. Quite a few choices of GF meals. Highly recommend calling in for lunch.

I ordered a rib eye steak at this hotel for dinner, and it was fantastic, smothered in garlic sauce and prawns with 2 oysters Kilpatrick and mash and vegies, all served on a sizzling hot cast iron skillet, it melted in my mouth

Terrible stay. I have stayed at many backpackers and backpacker-styled/like accommodation and this is by far the worst. Offered free continental breakfast: juice was not replaced in open jugs in two days left in fridge, bread old, condiments in plastic serving basket that hadn't been cleaned in decades. Signs everywhere saying don't spent too much time in shower or let shower curtain hang out as leaks down in the bistro. Toilet so close to shower wall I could barely sit without my knees touching the wall. Toilet paper the type you get at truck stops, and DEFINATLY not female friendly. Carpet do not step on with bare feet and bed was probably 50 years old.

We were staying up the street at the Comfort Inn, so we walked on down and enjoyed a delicious meal. My son has the Chicken Wellington, which he enjoyed, and I had a spicy seafood dish which was delicious. Along with glass of wine and a cold beer and we were ready to walk back to the hotel for a lovely sleep... Not the cheapest restaurant we visited over our 7 days of traveling, but worth every penny since the costs were not outrageous either.

Firstly - you cannot order and pay for your drinks in the same transaction. Informed by staff that bar & restaurant are separate businesses & will not let you pay for both. Ie need to place two separate orders for meal & another counter to order & pay for drink
My wife had calamari - definitely not fresh & tough as boots. My lasagne was not much better. We didn't finish meals & went to bakery afterwards to finally eat something decent
