We stayed here overnight on a recent road trip. The pool was great and the kids loved it but once we decided to head to the beach it was a huge hike and right by a very busy road. The amenities are due for an upgrade but they are in working order. It was good for an overnight stop over but I wouldn't stay any longer.

We stayed on a powered site under trees adjacent to the Port Macquarie golf course. The facilities were clean and the park is close to a patrolled beach, shops and a really good Italian restaurant up the hill at the neighbourhood shops. At night the park is peaceful however the first morning we were woken at 6:45am by the industrial leaf blower towed behind a lawn tractor on the golf course. This was the latest we got to sleep. On our worst morning the ground staff were towing the large blower around the course at 5:30am admittedly not directly adjacent to our site but at 6:00am we got the two stroke blower cleaning the green directly behind our site together with various lawn mowers and equipment. This noise occurred to varying degrees every morning during our stay and even disturbed friends of ours staying in one of the cabins. This problem is not the fault the operators of the park and maybe we just got a bad week but we could not recommend staying here.

We needed a caravan park that was suitable for 6 nights camping and found practically all the caravan parks in Port Macquarie unattractive, with squashed camping areas providing little to no privacy outside your tent. Then we stumbled upon the Lighthouse Beach Holiday Village - we couldn't believe our luck, after the numerous other sites we viewed, but unfortunately, having arrived quite late in the evening, were unable to contact anyone from the park to make a reservation. Stayed somewhere else for the night, came back at 8.30am the next day and were immediately allowed to set up tent without having to pay extra or wait for their official check in time, by the friendly guy at reception. We set up in a powered site located in a spacious corner plot. Each powered site has a wash up tap area + 2 other taps for water supply. The park has the usual cabins, camp and caravan sites. The clean amenities block has the security of key pad access. Common wash up area has lots of seating if you need a table to have your meals, but sinks only have cold water for washing. The park does not have a recreation room with TV, etc but does have a small, well kept swimming pool, kids playgroud and a popular cafe within it's grounds (judging by the number of people that showed up every night, to dine). The park however, did have a stagnant stream next to the powered sites, blocked with dead branches, etc. The park owners/council really should get it cleaned up as it is a mosquito hazard. A fence should also be set up around the perimeters of the park as the non-powered camp sites are right next to the road, with easy access for anyone to walk right in and help themselves! Overall a nice park in a peaceful surburb with a neat residential village attached to it, next to a golf course, just a short stroll to a beautiful beach, very short drive to the local shops and a big supermarket, around 10 minutes drive from town and a lot better value for money than the caravan parks nearer to town.

Booked the ensuite cabin for a Tuesday night stay. Not expecting heaps for the $70 price but you have to provide at least some basic amenities as that price doesn't include linen, towels, tea or coffee or soap. It seems the no soap policy has been in place for quite some time so they should probably throw that in with the list of what they don't provide.

So the good points, sorry point is the staff were friendly.

The cabin and ensuite was basic which is fine but plenty of noticeable ageing problems. It was the smallest TV ever but I can't tell you what the picture was like because there was no reception. I won't blame the operators because the connection was probably pulled out by the possum some time before he spent all night going back and forth on the roof. The door separating the double bed from the bunks was busted and wouldn't close.

Awoke in the morning and thought I was in the movie Antz as cabin was crawling with them. By this time feeling dirty, tired and wanting a hot shower, so no hot water at 7am was the last straw the possum scratched.

Couldn't wait to leave and reception hours of 0830 to 1700 are suggestive only as someone showed up late. They should also be fined for referring to it as a chalet. I won't be back.

Everything that could go wrong with this place, did. Firstly there was an all night party not 50 metres away in the holiday park cafe, resulting in NO sleep. Secondly, I made a booking for this place with booking.com and gave over my credit card details, believing the booking was complete. But the manager denied I had a booking in the first place and tried to send me away without accommodation even though she said had a room when I first walked in.I had booked it legitimately and correctly!! She said she hadn't received the email- whoever the fault lay, whether it was booking.com or the holiday park, don't send people away who driven 100's of kilometres without any accommodation late on a friday afternoon, when they have made a legitimate booking!! She only changed her tune and let me stay in a cabin which 'somehow' became available when booking.com told her she would have to find me alternate accommodation. Despicable! At that point I had spend at least 20 minutes on the phone chasing it up as she couldn't be bothered providing ANY help and was totally hostile.

Then the second morning after the party, no hot water. Tried to switch on the tv, no reception either. No sleep, no hot water, and no apology - just that I should have rung reception out of hours. We had to travel to sydney first thing in the morning on very little sleep - not ideal. PLEASE NEVER STAY HERE - do yourselves a favour!!

We were recommended this place by the Information people in the town centre, when I arrived we had an option of the "beach house" that alone was not exactly a good description as we were about a mile from the beach, fthat had no a/c only a fan and without doubt had seen better days that was $110.00 per night, our second offer was a 8x10 foot shed, no a/c, no fan, no bedding, no lined, no towels, no sheets on the bed and it backed onto the main road - to add to that we couldn't get the door open as the lock had seized - perhaps it lacked use, $65.00 night plus $10 if you wanted bedding, so if you are desperate.. And it's not 35C it may be ok for you ...

Beach bungalow yucky the tables and chairs provided are about to fall apart I feel like I need to check I've had a tetanus shot recently. There are no supplies at all like you find in normal accommodation like soaps, towels & coffee, tea sugar packets.
Our bedroom smelled like wee infact the kitchen had a very disguisting smelling odour to it.
Would not recommend anyone to stay here.

This holiday park has lovely, flat, grassed camping sites. Some sites have trees and good shade. Sites are close to a busy road and this can be noisy at times, and you need to be careful with young children as there is no fence. There is no boom gate or security patrols either and theft happens occasionally. Anyone can walk in from the street into the park. The amenities are old and need an update - but not tragic.
Having said that, it is situated close to the beach - the flagged area is a short drive away or a 15 min walk along the beach, it is close to the golf course and there are plenty of necessity shops, a hotel and restaurants close by. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
There is a very good restaurant on site too.

We booked a bungalow in the above holiday village to stay in late December/early January 2015. While the bungalow was well-presented and looked clean, on the first night of our stay we found a couple of cockroaches. The following day we raised our concern with the manager and she gave us an insect killer spray. On subsequent nights we had to kill approximately 15 cockroaches. We left the bungalow before our scheduled date because on the last night our 6-year-old daughter found a flying cockroach in her bed. She was too scared to spend one more night in the bungalow. While the staff were friendly, we felt they should have done a proper pest infection prior to the arrival of guests. We wouldn't recommend this place to anybody because it was unhygienic and too expensive for the service we received.

My partner and I recently stayed here on our way back from the Gold Coast. We wanted something cheap and comfortable. Upon seeing the cabin I was disappointed as it wasn't what the pictures indicated however the cabin was absolutely spotless, a credit to the cleaning staff. The shower was fantastic and the bed was really comfortable.
