We found the motel to be conveniently located, most welcoming and the room was very spacious and well appointed. Booking direct was significantly discounted. Deers were very pretty, easy to feed and an extra bonus. Breakfast was included with a good range of cereals and toast and condiments. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. The shower was easy to manage and had good pressure and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated having a table and chairs, microwave and tea towel with detergent. Our stay was very pleasant.

Great location & deer feeding a great bonus. We stayed 2 nights in a family pet friendly room (there are 3 pet friendly rooms) which was spacious & clean liked that it had a large fridge/freezer & microwave. Air conditioner worked well beds very comfortable & shower hot & good pressure. Free Wifi is available. Our room was located near the deer feeding paddock so saw the deers often. The continental breakfast was also a good add on. There is an indoor pool but we didn’t use it this time. Booking was made direct as we were after a pet friendly room but we were able to check in online and was able to go direct to our room this was a simple process & very convenient. This motel was great value for the reasonable price. Would highly recommend

Our train from Sydney broke and instead of arriving at 5.30 arrived 2.30 am next morning. We're in our 80s so you can imagine. I sent a couple of frantic emails re the progress (or not) of the trip. Jason replied saying not to stress. Gave details of exactly which room key would be in door etc. When there were issues with a taxi, Jason drove us to the university for the graduation ceremony and went above and beyond looking us throughout our four night stay, even organising meals. I should mention the room costs includes a continental breakfast, juice, cereal yoghurt, toast etc, or can be delivered to your room. The dining room has the most amazing collection of Santa dolls, animals, and miniature cottages. Added to that a heated indoor pool. Also a wonderful experience feeding the deer. Room has a good size fridge and full freezer, microwave, jug and toaster. We have stayed many places, but have never been so well looked after. A must for your Armidale stay.

I stayed one night to break a long trip. The location of the motel makes it easy to find because it's quite close to the turn-off from the New England Hwy if you are coming from the north. However the location is also well out of the centre of Armidale. The motel restaurant was closed down when I stayed and it is a little inconvenient to have to dive a further 5 to 10 minutes into the centre of the town to find a place to eat.
My room was very large, clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent. I slept well. The bathroom was average and featured one of my pet hates - a shower over the bath. The side of the bath was quite low which meant that it was not too awkward to step into or out of the shower. However this sort of arrangement is still a potential hazard for many people.
Like most Australian motels, there was tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits supplied as well as glasses, cups and an electric kettle. My room was large enough to also have a small table with two chairs and two quite comfortable tub chairs near the bed. There was also a desk space although only two electrical points, one already used by a desk lamp.
To room was air-conditioned and the A/C worked well. There was a flat screen TV which was positioned on a wall that seemed a tad inconvenient but it not warry me as I never switched it on. The motel offered free wifi but I found download speed never exceeded 4.5 mbps.
A feature of this motel is deer feeding which occers at 9am and 5pm daily. The motel has a small herd of fallow deer. It provides feeding pellets free of charge. This appeared to be an excellent attraction for any kids staying at the property.
The room tariff included a continental breakfast but this was skimpy. It was not a buffet. You had to ask to be served. There was a reasonable choice of cereals, milk and yoghurt. Fruit was limited to a dice of rockmelon (cantaloupe) and watermelon. Toast, butter, margarine, hone and jam was available as was tea and coffee. Fruit juice was limited to apple and orange. I had the latter and it was very watery, not at all like pure juice.
Overall, my stay was comfortable enough although breakfast was insufficient. (I stopped for coffee and a pastry in the next town about 30 minutes later.) The tariff was cheap for Armidale but probably need to be to attract custom given the small negatives of this motel.

Worst stay ever went there for Tamworth festival stayed four nights place was gross have bugs on floors much in toilet dirt in shower did not cater for my gluten intolerance at all and was advised to be Gluten friendly but was not room was not tided each day either did not receive fresh linens or towels beds were gross and moved beds to make two doubles to find crap under where the beds had been no utensils or crockery in place so cannot eat a take away meal at motel never went in or near pool area especially after we had seen state of rooms. and the worst thing of all bed bugs And when we asked for our money back the owner and staff were extremely rude, arrogant and just disrespectful to us as guests which is why I’m writing this review Would not recommend you stay here and place needs to be shut down. DO NOT STAY HERE EVER

Really enjoyed our stay at the Deer Park Motor Inn. Sometimes it's the little things that matter. Probably the most comfortable beds and best pillows we have experienced at a travel motel in a long time. What stood out for us: Chromecast, so we could watch our own streaming service Friendly service - personal welcome was a nice touch Simple, yet lovely breakfast that was included Indoor pool was fun for the family Deer feeding - which made the experience unique and something to remember Clean and well-appointed room. Highly recommend. Such great value.

We stayed in Armidale for a uni graduation familyof 4 (2 adults + 13 & 11yr olds). Room had 3 comfy beds and we had everything we needed for a great stay. Days were warm but despite the chilly nights we stayed cosy thanks to an excellent aircon and ample blankets and doonas. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and parking at our door made for quick unloading of the car. Whole family loved feeding the deer, they are very calm and feeding time is a very relaxed affair. Breakfast was quick and had a good variety of cereals, plus juice, fruit, yoghurt, toast and raisin toast. A few minutes drive to loads of take away options meant dinner was easily sorted (just remember to grab cutlery).

Tastefully furnished family rooms with photo blocks of the beautiful resident deers Have been staying here repeatedly for seven years. Was very impressed with the new seamless checkin/out process and room makeover. Value for money stay catering well for short family stays. Very clean and managed well. We will continue to make this a must stop over. Thank you.

We have just spent two nights at Deer Park, the hotel is under refurbishing however the room we stayed in was very comfortable. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower hot with great water pressure, it had free wifi and the air conditioning had been turned on to warm the room for our arrival. The hosts ensured our stay was enjoyable, they were helpful, accomodating and friendly. The continental breakfast included with our room had ample choices and was a great start to the day. The deer feeding sessions were a delight - not just for the kids !

We booked this Motel because it offered a different experience ie: Feeding of the Deer, because it had a Restaurant and we need not go out for a meal after travelling many hours during the day, because if offered a heated indoor pool to relax in and was reasonably priced and included a continental breakfast. We were very disappointed with the overall appearance of the place, barren, uneven paving, reception closed, rang for service and the host who didn't even introduce himself clearly, showed us to a room where the key on a piece of string was already in the door. The room (33) had thread bare carpet, tea/toast cupboard doors swollen and grubby, bathroom old and smelly, musty and dank. When we said we weren't happy with the accommodation and would like to leave the host said fine but we'd loss out entire booking fee and we wouldn't get anything for the same price in town. He then offered a refurbished room. It was far better but still only -3 stars, no plates, knives or milk for tea/coffee. We tried the pool, not heated- smelled of chlorine, nowhere to put down a towel, fences falling down. We booked for dinner after seeing the menu. We ordered a glass of Sav. Blanc. It came looking very yellow, smelled old tasted off. I asked to see the bottle, it was 2014 and opened. We refused to pay for the wine. The meal eventually came, and was delicious. They have and excellent chef! The deer feeding was unique but we felt sorry for the animals as they are kept in a restricted enclosure, broken fences and covered in weeds and old rotting farm equipment. The breakfast was adequate. We acknowledge it's a tough market but his Motel is extremely run down and very little ambience in any of its client areas and the photos misrepresent what it offers.

Hi, We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay as much as our other guests. It is sad to see that you feel the need to knock a business that is struggling of no fault of its own. Had you read our pre arrival email you would have understood that we are running a covid safe check in which means that we greet guests outside and complete the check in at the room. We appreciate that our rooms are old and would have all been refurbished by now had it not been for drought, bushfires and covid. Rather than focusing on the negatives you could have appreciated that we actually offered you a free upgrade to a better room. We are a motel and do not advertise serviced apartment style facilities. The lack of milk was due to you wanting to move room and could have easily been resolved by a phone call. Our indoor saltwater pool is heated to 26-27C and there are several chairs available to hang towels. We also would like to point out that you were advised that booking was required for the pool due to NSW government requirements so not quite sure why you would breach the covid requirements. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy the wine you ordered. It is a local sauvignong blanc and one of our best selling wines. I appreciate that taste in wine differs but there was nothing wrong with the wine and the bottle was freshly opened to pour your glasses of wine. Also we did take the wine off your bill before you could refuse to pay for it. Our 10 friendly does have 1.5 acres to roam and are well cared for. As you say it is a tough market and we truly don't need negative customers with delusional expectations to knock us while we try to getthrough the current crisis. We also beg to differ on your impression of lack of ambience and your insinuation that our website is misleading. We wish you all the best and wish other moteliers a better experience when you are staying with them when you travel next to Armidale
