This was the best place we have stayed in regional NSW. Beautifully restored Art Deco building with sympathetic deco style updates throughout. Very clean, fresh and well appointed. Lovely guest lounge, balcony area and lively outdoor bar. Great location right in the centre of town, convenient car park at rear, easy check in and out, super friendly helpful staff. Room was lovely with great bathroom, fluffy towels, well stocked mini-bar, super comfy beds, good wifi and air con. The highlight was the restaurant, wonderful staff and amazing food. Breakfast was included with the room and was one of the best I'd had, freshly cooked to order by the chef.

Amazingly we arrived and were given an upgrade to the suite. This was a huge surprise especially upon entering the room and finding a very large and well appointed room with a fabulous Art Deco feel and large gas fireplace.
The bedroom was very roomy and the bed luxurious. The bathroom was simply sensational with large free standing bath and huge shower rose within a large shower area.
I recommend this Hotel to anyone wanted to be pampered and have access to the best restaurant in Armadale. Simply the best.

We absolutely loved our two night stay in this charming art deco hotel. We enjoyed the Chancellor's Suite, which had a beautiful lounge area complete with an attractive gas fireplace, a roomy bedroom with a very comfortable king bed and a very well appointed ensuite. The art deco features were very appealing and everywhere in the hotel had a feeling of quality. Breakfast in the dining room was tasty and satisfying. Reception staff and dining room staff were all excellent. The hotel is conveniently situated in the town centre. Highly recommended.

One of the best hotels we have experienced. Beautiful rooms and entire aesthetics. Special mention to Bella at reception who couldn't do enough for us. Bella was more than accommodating in assisting us choose our room by showing us through a number of options. Being a Monday night the Tattersall restaurant was not available so Bella made reservations for dinner at a local hotel which was very enjoyable. Bravo Bella! Great asset to the Tattersall.

I booked for one night over the phone directly with the hotel and they failed to warn me that I would not be able to have even a cup of coffee the next morning.
They are not serving breakfast to their guests due to, yes you guessed it, COVID19!!! How much longer are businesses going to continue to use the flimsy excuse of the pandemic for poor service. Give me a break!! If you can serve dinner then you can serve breakfast.
When I complained to the mangement when checking out he said that if I had asked them to, they could have ordered some breakfast from a nearby cafe. That is not the POINT! They fail to warn the guest since they know that few people if any, would like to go out first thing in the morning looking for breakfast. On top of that, one can only order X-large coffee!!! That in itself tells you what kind of rubbish coffee you will get.
They graciously gave me a 10% discount. Well, that doesn't make up for having to go out for decent coffee in the cold morning at 7 am.
The room was facing the back alley and there was a constant humming noise during the night, possibly from some kind of engine maybe even from another business. And Ididn't have the air conditioning on becuase I can't sleep with the noise.
I was cold in the middle of the night and there were no extra blankets. And before yo usay COVID 19 again, many hotels hae blankets in sealed plastic. So that is not an excuse.
The only nice thing was the bed.

We had intended to drive up the A1 but due to flooding we found ourselves forced inland and pointing towards Armidale for the night. We booked in by phone but on arrival it transpired that our booking and an Internet booking coincided and we were faced with a substantial increase in room rate. After a bit of discussion they made it right for us and we were pleased to use the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast both of which were very good. The suite and indeed the hotel pats homage to the Art Deco movement which worked for us albeit it felt a bit like being in a Poirot shoot at times. The place was fully occupied whilst we were there and the staff did well to turnaround an initially negative impression to a strongly positive one. We will stay again this time by choice

Best country accomodation experience in recent years. Elegant, beautifully renovated Art Deco style in every detail. Rooms are beautifully appointed and include free movies, gowns, huge bathroom, coffee machine, plenty of power points, luxurious bedding decor matching the Art Deco theme. The dining is spectacular. It is on the expensive side but it is really an upmarket restaurant and worth every cent.

Having read about the hotel in Wallpaper magazine that $24million was spent renovating & refurbishing hotel, we were excited to visit. We booked the family room (2 bedrooms + living/dining/kitchen) for 3 adults. First impressions were impressive - the designers have done a great job & attention to detail on design elements are very nice. But unfortunately, functionality & practicality for the guest wasn’t really a priority. Some areas lacking : 1. Insufficient hanging space in bathroom & rooms 2. No USB charge points. 3. Blackout curtains in living room but none in bedroom. 4. No dishwasher resulting in dirty crockery/cutlery. 5. Despite having a full fridge in kitchen, a mini fridge was located in bedroom (space could have been used as shelf space). Service at reception was friendly but housekeeping was a different matter. Attitude could be improved - guests simply want help in resolving issues & not be given excuses & play the blame game. Rooms weren’t stocked properly (water, milk, toiletries weren’t replenished & we had to request for them) We loved the overall design & did enjoy our visit to Armidale but it could have easily been a 5 star experience if service & attitude could be improved. Very few staff smiled & service was more like a duty rather than offering hospitality. Overall disappointed in our stay in the hotel (relative to our stays in Powerhouse in Tamworth & Goonoo Goonoo station). Management should consider proper hospitality training for staff & this will be an excellent hotel.

If you arrive at the hotel on foot, you’ll be greeted with a beautiful art deco frontage onto the pedestrian precinct. Hotel reception accessed via the side laneway. Most likely you’ll arrive by car you’ll be in the rear carpark which is a little more underwhelming, but there’s really not a lot the hotel can do about that. There’s a small amount of free hotel parking out back which appears to be on a first come basis. Check-in to our queen room was swift and friendly. In fact, we may as well say here that the quality of service from staff was one of the highlights of our stay. We were staying just one night as a trial. We knew there were no opening windows and weren’t sure whether we’d like that. Turns out the glass in each bedroom is also obscure, so you can’t see outside at all, which didn’t stop us from feeling a little exposed in the bathroom which had no curtain! Having taken a sticky beak at other rooms and chatted to reception staff, our best advice is to call the hotel if possible when booking so you can let them know what your room priorities are as although the furniture appears pretty much the same in all the rooms, being an older, renovated property, the bedroom and bathroom sizes differ quite considerably. Ours as it turned out was one of the smaller bedrooms so the furniture really dominates the room. All the furniture is great quality and matches the art deco feel of the rest of the hotel. We just felt the enormous bedhead in particular was a little big for the room. Some of the larger bedrooms had a much larger seating area and better circulation space, but then much smaller bathrooms. Our bathroom on the other hand was huge. Nice fixtures/fittings, beautiful art deco style tiling including the lovely tile infilled grate in the shower. There was good water pressure and toiletries. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Walked to the restaurant from our motel easy to find right in the centre of town. The dining room was charming well decorated and Covid-19 safe practises. The food was excellent, for a starter we shared a grilled octopus large enough for two. The mains were well cooked and delicious. The scampi was fresh and the salmon was topped with a very interesting sauce. A local Chardonnay from Kingstown was easy to drink. All in all a lovely evening out
