This is such a unique place in a beautiful setting. The rooms are amazing with luxurious bed linen and comfy beds. There are areas to sit in the main living area that will cater for anyone and the outdoor areas have screens so there is no problem with sandflies. The outdoor shower is a wonderful.

Room Tip:To drive there you need to go on a narrow metal road and then park down the hill from the lodge

Rough and Tumble Lodge is a hidden treasure. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and everything you need. You have the option to shower in the perfectly private outdoor shower and I recommend it. It was the perfect transition stay from experiencing the Old Ghost Road walk and moving back to the hustle and bustle of life. The team at the Lodge are so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a stay at the Lodge.

Spot on accommodation after the Old Ghost Road. Rustic and unpretentious but well-designed and comfortable. Great home cooked food, professional and welcoming local staff, relaxed atmosphere, plenty of common space including the comfortable lounge, long refectory tables and large screened verandah. High quality bedrooms and en suites.

We were very lucky to have the entire lodge to ourselves for the night. We found the lodge very relaxing, lovely bush shower, amazing dinner - you definitely wont go hungry, beds are comfy and rooms are quiet. Really nice not having a TV in the bedroom. Just watch for the sandflies! We enjoyed sitting outside and taking some bush walks.

Fabulous place to unwind after hiking the Old Ghost Road. Comfortable beds and a great lounge and dining area to relax in. Fab food for dinner and the outdoor shower is a must do. So happy we stayed and didn’t rush off, highly recommend making the time to spend a night or two.

Stayed here with a good friend at the end of tramping Old Ghost Road, what a great decision! Absolutely fantastic experience from the swim in the river to the fabulous bush shower, luxurious king beds, immaculate split level room, excellent bathroom! We will forever remember Shelley’s amazing dinner, not only was she so friendly, welcoming and helpful but a fantastic chef too! Thank you so much Shelley for making our stay so enjoyable! We really did appreciate it, especially after surviving on minimal rations for the past 5 days! Such a treat to stay here! The icing on the cake of our Old Ghost Road experience! Thank you!

An iconic lodge set in a rainforest right next to a river - yes, it's as magical as it sounds. Every room looks out onto the bush. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great. But perhaps its greatest selling points are the hearty and sumptuous meals, the outdoor shower overlooking the river (with hot water!) and the cosy lounge areas. This is luxury but at budget prices.

Our family absolutely loved staying here after our OGR ride. We were pampered with soft sofas, pizza and drinks on arrival. Hot outdoor shower with best view in the world was just incredible. Dinner was lovely and the rooms beautiful and well set out.
