I was very pleasantly surprised with the Bella Vista Motel in Westport. In all my travels around NZ over the past 40+ years I have never stayed in a Bella Vista Motel and have heard many varying reports about them.
Some people said the units were very small, but the unit I stayed in was very spacious. I got what seemed to be the last available motel unit in Westport that evening so I ended up with a one bedroom unit.
Marilyn the owner was a great host who had owned the motel for almost 30 years. I would definitely stay their again.

Easy to find on main road into town. Very clean room, new bathroom. Cramped with 2 of us and luggage but was described as studio room so fair enough. Rooms include choice of tea and coffee and a selection of bathroom items. Helpful friendly service. Long walk to cafes and restaurants.

.....but had everything we needed. Disabled access room 1 which caused problems with 2 able bodied tallish people because of low siting of kitchen wall cabinets! Friendly welcome, lots of useful info about local eateries - not much on a Monday night. Warm and comfy.

Had a good stay at this hotel, the staff were really friendly. The room was tidy, well maintained and quite nice. It was just big enough to fit our stuff. The heater was a little confusing but once we got it going it worked really quickly. They did offer a continental breakfast which was a nice offer but we didnt worry about that. They have a selection of natural earth toiletries which are really nice to use.

Motel was in a good location close to many amenities and eating/drinking options with in walking distance. We had a clean studio which is a little cramped but we booked this knowing that is the case we have stayed in several Bella Vista motels in the past. Exactly what we wanted for a one night stay.

We had a good easy stay at Bella Vista in Westport. We booked the cheapest room. It was very small, barely had enough space for our 2 suitcases, but it was OK. More importantly it was clean and tidy and well maintained. The room had a wall heater which kept us warm. The bathroom was a good size.

Great friendly team, a warm welcome on arrival. The small compact room I was allocated was clean, tidy and had everything I needed. Including a kettle, coffee machine, fridge, etc. I would stay again.

Great place for a group to stay as the hotel next door is also handy. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable and shower had good pressure. Some of the rooms are on the small side, only because we had motorbike gear, but certainly adequate for a few nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. Located very handy to walk to eating places.

Very easy to find, great location close to Supermarket and Eateries, warm welcome on arrival from Marilyn. Cleaning staff very welcoming and helpful. Unit was a compact studio with everything we needed for a two night stay. Very Clean and well equipped, will definitely be back.

Extremely well maintained property. Older style but really well looked after and really well appointed. Sky TV, great recycling, the room had every item you could ever want in a motel room. Only a couple of minutes walk downtown for supermarket, shopping and restaurants. Owners also lovely to talk to and very helpful.
