I made a very late call to get accommodation here, after the top10 at carters Beach would only accept late arrivals if an absolute emergency! Which i guess is fair enough. But I'm very glad that was the case. Tripinn was fantastic, not only was I accepted late, but the staff were very friendly, super helpful. It is a very beautiful building, and the entire place is absolutely spotless. Terrific value, very highly recommended
In a large old house. The main feature is the stunning gardens and the spaces available outside to eat in the fresh air. Lovely. Kitchen is large and very well equipped. Showers hot but wet towels dumped in a corner. Bedroom was small and a bit cramped for space. Spaces to store bikes. BBQ not working. Would stay again.
We stayed in the room with en-suite which we found very good, it was warm, had a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a great shower. The shared space was also very good with a large kitchen, dining room and lounge. Plenty of out door seating for those summer evenings. There is off street parking and loan bikes available. The original part of the build is ~160 years old with the extension making it two storied being 130 years old so is a piece of history. This is budget accomodation and delivers good value for money.
Passing through for the night was a rather uncomfortable experience. There was a small group traveling together which were not a problem.... just enjoying themselves at a moderate level. What I do not enjoy is hearing and witnessing (when I come out my room to investigate the noise), the business owner screaming like a banshee, swearing and calling a group of young ladies “dumb, *insert bad many words*”. Extremely poor behaviour, even if the group was problematic. Not only was the owner acting in an aggressive manor to her clientele, there were other issues, the property seems soulless, printed out rules all over the place, a small dog and three cats to trip over, which were allowed into the kitchen, lounges and guest rooms.... not exactly hygienic. I advise you try a different location.…
Host doesn't permit alcohol after 9pm even if it's your birthday. Swears at you if you make any noise past 9pm. Yes; the showers were clean but if you actually want to enjoy travelling DO NOT STAY HERE. The host locked us out of the main building because we were "too loud " despite this being before 10pm" Please do not stay here, you will ruin your trip. I promise this is not a good representation of new zealand hospitality.
Comfy beds, nice TV room and a big kitchen. Not much of an atmosphere here, good if you're just passing through but wouldn't spend more than a night or two here though. You only get 2GB of wifi per night. Excellent cats though!
It was such a pity that we only stayed a night because I loved this place so much. It had the feel of an expensive Victorian hotel with quality rooms to boot. It was great for pet lovers like us since the dog and cats were so friendly and loved pats (except for the shy Meiko, didn't see her 😭) The kitchen was spacious enough and well equipped with everything you might need, alongside free coffee, tea and spices. There was also a nice garden where the cats loved to hang out in. This place was so nice I was almost tempted to stay another night but my booked tours wouldn't allow it. Highly recommend!
Just spent a night at the TripInn! There was everything we could have neeeded! Well equipped kitchen, lounge with coal fire, garden area, pool table and laundry! Access too fresh and dried herbs- which is great for when your travelling! We had a private en-suite double upstairs- which was better than hotels we’ve stayed in! Large, airy and clean! Plus there was cats and a dog too cuddle tooo!!
I rolled up to this hostel in the pouring rain, absolutely exhausted from a full day of cold and wet hiking. I had no intentions of staying at a hostel that night but my tent was too wet to sleep in and I couldn't park my car at the free beach camp site. It doesn't look like much from the street, but once you walk in my jaw nearly hit the floor. The architecture of the old house is absolutely stunning and well maintained. The building just seems to go on forever. There is a very large kitchen space, a giant dining room if the weather is poor, and an even bigger outside eating area on the deck. I was in a small three bed room which was quiet and comfortable. Everything was very clean and I think that was one of the best showers I had my entire trip (keep in mind I was very cold and wet...) If I had been sticking around town I would have loved to spend another night there. Would highly recommend if you find yourself in Westport.…
We booked an accommodation for the wrong date by mistake, so we had to get a different one ... this way we got to stay at the Tripinn Hostel ... and it was great!!! The house is stunning and the rooms are pretty comfy. Nice outside area and I loved the city, which seems a bit dreamy. Would have loved to stay there longer. Absolutely recommendable!
