Check In - lovely welcoming host.
Fresh milk delivered to your room. The added nice touch? Shortbread to have with our 'bedtime' drink delivered too, love it!
First Room Impression - clean, warm and comfortable. Added touch? A fly swat in the cupboard for any pesky mossies that sneak in unnoticed, you have no idea how much I appreciated that gesture. We only had one but it was quickly dispatched thanks to that swat. 👍
I rarely pay more than $110-$120 for a Motel room as it's expensive to holiday in NZ, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. We really enjoyed our stay here, shame it wasn't more than 1 night as we'd definitely make Buller Court our basecamp.
Bathroom was well ventilated with all necessary emenities, tea/coffee etc. provided, cutlery and crockery, toaster, microwave, mini fridge, extra pillows and blankets, heaters, 2 lounge chairs alongside a desk with 2 chairs also.
Walking distance to bars, restaurants and Supermarket. You can walk the main street with ease.

So pleased you took a chance on us! Thank you for your great review. I am sure you are the first person over the years to praise the flyswat! We would have loved you to stay longer, but we are very pleased we were a good fit for you. Kind regards Diana and Ray

Stayed 1 night with friends and wished we could stay longer. Hosts were very friendly, in its spotlessly clean, well stocked with toiletries and linen and a lovely touch of home baked shortbread made by hosts. Thoroughly recommend this place to stay.

On our way along the west coast, we stopped for a night in Westport again. Not looking anywhere else, we booked again at Buller Court on Palmerston. It's on the main road, easy to find, the rooms are spotlessly clean and modern, and of very high standard. Very comfy beds, we got the last available room with a queen bed and a single bed. The bathroom is roomy and modern, with walk in shower and a lot of toiletries, fluffy towels and good quality toilet paper. Just attention to detail. Super lovely hosts, and with your milk you'll get homemade fresh shortbread.
Would always stay here when in Westport.

Such a lovely review, thank you so much. I hope you venture south again some time in the near future when Westport's new hub is built and you can spill over the river via a new bridge from town, and onto the wonderful new trails. Lots to come back for!

A great motel to stay in. Friendly owners.
We got homemade shortbread on arrival.
Very nicely set out room. Terrific shower and lovely toiletries.
Only fault is one that a lot of motels have of the microwave being far to high.
There were even small tongs for the removal of the teabags from the cup. It is these extra thoughtful things that make a difference.

Thank you for your lovely review. It is good to get feedback that is constructive, and your comment re microwave height has got us to order mini single step stools to put in those particular units. I use one in my kitchen, so I feel guilty that I have never thought our guests would like one too!! Hope you had a lovely stay on the west coast and will be back one day.

We stayed in Jan 2021. The lady/owner on reception was lovely and helpful. The room was clean, modern, nicely decorated and comfortable. On checking in we were asked what kind of fresh milk we would like (standard, light or trim) - it was a pleasure to have some fresh milk of our choice delivered with some tasty shortbread (think it was homemade - still warm). Lots of tea/coffee/chocolate milk/sugar options too. Toiletries provided were more than at other motels (shampoo and conditioner provided in addition to body and hand wash).
My studio unit had a small kitchenette area with everything I needed, though I had to use the sink from the bathroom as no sink in the kitchen area. My family stayed in a separate larger apartment which had more of a full kitchen if you need it and they really enjoyed their stay too.

From arrival (Fresh baked shortbread cookies), three nights stay to departure, we couldn’t find fault. Wonderful hosts, Debbie and Dave couldn’t have done any more to ensure our stay was perfect. Super location, just a short stroll to all of the town's facilities but far enough away to avoid any noise. Accommodation is a very modern and well designed comfortable unit with excellent attention to detail which didn’t go unnoticed. Room with kitchenette including fridge, hob and microwave and all the necessities to enable self-sufficiency. Huge bathroom with heated towel rail, heated lighting and extractor and endless supply of high pressure, hot water. Beds are very comfortable as is the lounge area. I highly recommend this Hotel, super hosts, wonderfully comfortable, warm and welcoming…. We will be back!

A awesome stay here at Buller Court. I have stayed next door a few times at the Westport Spa Motel, which this place seems to manage. This time I decided to try this one to change things up.
As always, lovely friendly service at Reception, with fresh milk (No UHT rubbish yay!), and still warm, melt in your mouth homemade shortbread brought across to my room soon after checking in.
I love that the parking outside each of the rooms are undercover, meaning you don't need to unload/load the car in the rain. Not needed on this trip to Buller however, with absolutely perfect weather.
The Room was spacious, with comfortable furnishings, and a large ranchslider leading out to lush gardens - complete with friendly Cat :) Lots of nice little touches, like a provided Umbrella for walks into town, Filtered Water in the fridge, heaps of Soaps/Shampoos ect. The Motel has the Sky Decoder, with Sky Sports ect. You can also borrow from a huge library of DVDs from Reception to watch. The Kitchenette has a Cook Top and Rangehood, with plenty of Cookware/Utensils to cook a decent meal. Not that you need to cook in Westport, with so many excellent Restaurants to choose from! The Denny Dog and Portside are consistently perfect.
Walking distance to town and both New World and Fresh Choice Supermarkets. 5 minute drive from the Airport. On the main drag (Palmerston Street), but no issues with any road noise. Small amount of noise from fellow guests, but nothing to bothersome at all, especially considering they were a mass group travelling together by the looks of it.
Comfortable bed, with good quality and clean linen. Slept really well, I definitely thought it was more comfortable than next door at the Westport Spa.
Price was excellent and I will definitely be back :) Thanks for a awesome stay :)

Like another review here, it's the little things and attention to detail that makes this an amazing motel to stay at. Gracious hosts, warm freshly baked cookies, a glass to put your toothbrush into etc. A very tidy, comfortable and restful stay.

We just stayed last weekend and I have to admit Buller Motel is definitely the amazing place we ever stayed. we so appreciated the warm welcome with a glass of milk and homemade shortbread, I almost asked the recipe as it was so delicious, it was a superb touch where we couldn't find this elsewhere. Also wanted to thank you for maintaining your room spotless, everywhere in the room was clean, comfy bed, thirdly, we love how Debby and Dave are drilling into details such as updated compendium, loads of DVD options if 50+ Sky channels you are not interested in, umbrella, notice board with so much useful information, bottle of chill water in fridge, Dave you were so friendly for us to check in, very engaging. We felt very welcomed. We were here cos we have never been to Westport before, and you gave us lots of confidence about your motel, beautiful town. So, I really want to say thank you and keep up with your amazing work, and I am sure all other guest will appreciate/celebrate you like we do.
We stayed the end of the property and would be so grateful if you can check the wifi connection, can drop randomly but we have unlimited date and couldnt care less cos when we love your motel so much and will definitely come back again when we are in Westport next time. Thank you Debby and Dave, very proud indeed.
