We loved everything about this place. The view, the grounds, the room, the breakfast, and the host. Just like other's comments, this is probably the best B&B we've ever stayed. Our host Terry cooked us foodie quality breakfast, helped us booking the fix plane ride, and even cleaned the windshield of our car in the morning!

Only stayed 1 night at whitestones- would recommend staying longer if you can. Only a shot drive from Te Anau, has beautiful views all around and stunning gardens full of birds. Liz and Terry are great hosts- welcoming and knowledgeable. We took their recommendation for dinner (Redcliff ) and it was spot on. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable and the whole place spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing! If you are looking for a luxurious b&b in a quiet location, look no further.

My husband and I just had a beautiful stay in the Luxmore room, and photos cannot convey how spotlessly clean and fresh the room and bathroom are, or the expansive beauty of the surrounding countryside. Liz and Terry are marvelous hosts-breakfasts are large and delicious; the perfect start to long, active days, and they were so helpful in helping us organize our outings. The property is also a working deer farm, and has a beautiful garden, both of which add to the striking beauty of the surroundings.
Property is a short drive from town, WELL worth the drive, and so peaceful. If we return to the Fiordland area again this is unquestionably where we would stay. Many thanks to our wonderful hosts!!

My Girlfriend and I love this place and recently returned for the Summer after previously staying during the Winter. Liz and Terry have put together a great place and we have recomended there B&B to Family and Friends. The views to the Mountains that were snow-capped are just amazing to wake up to. Reading a book in the garden while listening to the birds quickly had us asleep under the shady Elm tree amongst the very well kept gardens. Being on a Deer Farm and away from town was so peaceful and whenever we wanted to go to town it is so very close. A walk to the Whitestone River is a must do! To top it off Liz would bring the most beautiful meals to our room every morning with some mouth-watering treats also. Liz and Terry's local knowledge and advice on suitable attractions was very much appreciated also! We sure will be back! Thanks again! :-) P.S Our advice to others is: Stay longer around Te-Anau before/after doing the Queenstown thing!

A very lovely home with great hosts, and we really wished we could have stayed longer. Place is very cosy and great attention to details. Breakfast was really yummy, and it was nice to have home made cakes in the living room area (together with great variety of drinks and snacks). Thank you Liz & Terry for your warm hospitality! (And you too Kate!)

Hands down the best b&b we have ever stayed in. Amazing breakfasts, thoughtfully packed breakfast bag for the kids, ATV ride to see neighboring farms animals and lovely insights into Tea Anau area. We really felt right at home and the kids loved playing with Kate (the black lab) and the chickens! Thanks Liz and Terry for a fabulous time.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Terry and Liz made us very welcome. Lovely accommodation in rural setting. Our room was a good size with a very modern, tasteful en suite. Really nice garden area for relaxing with plenty of seating. Also deck area. Very nice lounge with fridge for keeping food, beer or wine. Comfortable seating with open view to the garden and mountains beyond. Plenty tea and coffee available and Liz makes fantastic cakes. The breakfasts are the best we have had in B and B. Great coffee and lots of fresh fruit in addition to an excellent hot dish. Very helpful advice about local activities/tours. Nothing too much trouble. We were sorry to leave.

Liz and Terry represent New Zealand's hospitality at its very best. They clearly love what they do, and it shows. They're very welcoming and will gladly show you around their garden and tell you about life in Te Anau or let you enjoy a quiet, undisturbed stay. We really appreciated Liz's graciousness in accomodating our dietary restrictions and our very early morning departure. We said we'd be happy with a cold breakfast if she'd leave it out for us; Liz insisted on cooking us a wonderful hot breakfast.
And Kate the dog is a sweetheart!
The B&B is spotlessly clean, beautifully and thoughfully furnished and has a breathtaking view. It definitely meets every expectation of a luxury B&B. We stayed for only a night on our way to Milford Sound and were sorry to leave.

when choosing accommodation, my husband and i would always put location first. but this time we decided to try different things, so after reading some very good reviews, we picked Whitestones B&B, and we are very happy that we made this choice. firstly it's not that far, only 10 mins drive from Te Anue towncentre, and it's much much more beautiful than the hotels in towncentre. it's in the middle of the farm/land/green, 5-star renovation, and lovely Liz always leave some homemade snack and fresh fruit for you in the fridge. the guest house is next to the owner's, but you won't feel uncomfortable or disturbed. the breakfast made by Liz was hearty and delicious. This is repeatedly mentioned in the other reviews. so i don't have to say more. and i love their beautiful cute friendly 3-year old black Labrador- Kate. she is kept at the back, doesn't allow to come to the guesthouse area. we found her accidentally. Liz and Terry allowed us to play with her. the cutest dog ever! in the night, you can sit on the deck and enjoy the stars and the singing of the birds (and sheep). definitely worth staying!!

We had an enjoyable stay at Whitestones. A pity it was only for one night. We stayed at the Luxmore Room and we absolutely loved it! It was like a five star hotel suite. The room opened out to a deck into the garden and it was most relaxing.
Liz had all the continental breakfast (cereal, milk, fruits, yogurt, juice, bread, home made jams) prepared for us in the fridge in the room the night before and also cooked us a sumptuous cooked breakfast the next morning.
We highly recommend this bed and breakfast!
