Detailed Reviews
We absolutely loved staying at South Fiord. John and Linda are charming and kind. They have thought of every amenity to make your stay comfortable and layout the most delicious breakfasts! We stayed three nights in the cottage with our 6 month old. There were toys for the baby, a portacot (we brought our own as it happens) and a high chair if we needed them. There were laundry facilities (necessary with a baby!!) and a tv to cosy up in front of though most of the time, in the evenings, when the baby went to bed, we sat on the cottage’s private terrace reading, watching the sunset and the beautiful view and enjoying a bottle of wine. The b&b is a little out of Te Anau (5 min drive) but as you need a car to get around anyways that’s hardly a problem. A perfect jump off point for Fiordland’s gorgeous hikes and Milford sound. We would happily stay here again.

We stayed in the Kowhai room which was spacious, comfortable and very clean! We had a lovely view of the garden and Lake Te Anau in the distance. Linda and John are amazing hosts and treat you like family! Linda makes all her bread, muffins, yogurt, etc. from scratch - all were delicious! We were introduced to the dog, cat, sheep and chickens! This city girl enjoyed the exposure to life on a farm! Thanks Linda & John from Debra & John

What a cozy place and hostess. (and host)
We slept in the cottage. This one is equipped with everything. We also got to cook ourselves.
Breakfast for our early departure to the fjords was prepared especially in advance. Other day cozy breakfast in the kitchen at hostess.
The place is just outside Te Anau, nice view and nice and quiet.

Stayed with lovely hosts who were very kind and inviting, Gave us lots of great information about the area at walks we could do. Even organized a cruise for us at milford sound . The rooms were great, loved the fact that we had a super king bed and a spa bath ! Very nice house and outlook, was great to be out of town and have real peace and quite and no street lights. Would happily stay here again.

On arrival warmly welcomed by Linda and her sweet dog. Stayed in the Kea room, a nice clean room with all conveniences and a great view. I really enjoyed the hospitality of Linda and John. Linda makes sure that you feel at home here and she succeeded. The breakfast was great, homemade bread, muffins, jams, boiled eggs, delicious yogurt and honey. And good coffee.
If you walk through the beautiful garden you can enjoy the singing birds and the beautiful flowers, especially the peonies.
South Fiord B&B is a 5-10 minute drive from Te Anau. You have beautiful viewpoints here to enjoy the sunset.
I've had a few nice and relaxing days here and can definitely recommend it.
Thank you Linda and John.

We spent two days with Linda and John in Te Anau. You need a car to stay here as it is a bit out of city centre, but when that is settled you only have a few minutes drive to get there.
The place have all the stuff you need for a bit of Luxury in the rough and Linda and John are wonderful hosts.
Breakfast is magnificent and as we are animal lovers we really enjoyed the very cute and well behaved cat and dog that came and said hello.

Agree with other reviewers...pastoral surroundings, exceptionally gracious host Linda, etc. one would need to drive to town to go out to dinner, but I would encourage guests to consider bringing something “home”—great outdoor table options, and we so enjoyed a picnic dinner with the beautiful view.

After a long drive it was a pleasure to walk into a modern spacious house with a tremendous views from each room over the lake Te Anau and the mountain back drop.
This B&B is out of the main town 5 mins by car, in a country setting. Linda the host was very friendly and helpful and made you feel at home. She was also very knowledgeable about what to do where to go.
I commend it to the house.

We spent one night at the South Fiord B&B on our way to Milford Sound. Linda was a very welcoming hostess and even had our name on the board welcoming us. Our room had a HUGE bathroom and our OWN porch overlooking the mountains. We got to feed Brian the deer, along with the pig, chickens, and cow. Breakfast was continental, which was plenty for us.
