We are just finishing off our three week trip staying mostly at B and B’s. This was our absolute favorite. We loved having our own little cabin to ourselves that was perfectly appointed with a gorgeous view through the garden gate and over the meadow with sheep to the lake beyond. Jane was a lovely hostess who felt like family by the end of our visit. She cooked up a delicious breakfast in her home for us each morning. I can’t think of anything to improve upon. You will be lucky to stay here since there are only two cottages. We stayed in the green one but I am sure both are wonderful.

It was nice to have our own little cottage: sometimes a B and B can seem a bit claustrophobic if there is nowhere to "get away", but The Croft was perfect. Our cottage was quiet, spotlessly clean, and comfortable, with a little kitchen area and a small lounge area - plenty big enough for two people. The location is excellent, only a few minutes drive fro Te Anau centre, but in countryside with sheep inly a few metres in front of us, making the view of the lake and mountains even more picturesque. Jane is a great hostess, very friendly and chatty, but not intrusive. She makes a great breakfast too. Highly recommended!

This cottage was so well set up and the view to lake Te Anau and the mountains was beautiful and serene. The hosts were so helpful and interesting. Breakfast was eggs any style with fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast etc- no way you could go away hungry. My husband was tired of driving so Jane was able to get us booked with a tour to drive to Milford Sound to hook up with the boat we had already purchased tickets on- it was a big relief for my husband to have someone else drive the rainy, winding roads and give him a break. I wish we could have had at least one more day to just relax at the cottage and go back to the Fat Duck restaurant for the best ever- green lipped mussels.

A little paradise with lovely host. The cabine looks like newly build. Very comfy, cozy, with everything you need. The view and the perfume of the country side is breathtaking. Jane is so welcoming. Her breakfast is delicious and prepared with her heart. You feel at home. A short walk through the ships will lead you to the beautiful lake.

This is one of the few B&B that you have your own cabin so you can enjoy the privacy while at the same time, enjoy the hospitality /authenticity of a typical B&B. We stayed two nights, one in the blue cabin and one in the green cabin, both cabins were spacious, well constructed, extremely clean and cozy. They have everything that you would need and we really loved both of them. Jane was also a wonderful hostess. She’s very knowledgeable about the local places and very easy to talk to. Breakfast was great and conversation was entertaining, we truly enjoyed her company. Oh, the Croft is a farm that has 120 sheep or so, and they are not afraid of people. This year they also have a black sheep! Don’t forget to take a good picture of it!
