We stayed here for three nights during our tour of South Island. Jane the hostess was simply wonderful. She helped us with all our queries and gave us a lot of information of the local area. She also organised our Milford sound trip with a local company. Most unexpectedly Jane also did our weeks washing and drying for us which was really a great help.We stayed in the blue cabin and had a wonderful view of the lake and mountains from our room and bed. The cabin was cosy , private and gave us a lovely home from home feel. Breakfast each day was equally tasty with lots of fresh fruits ,yogurts and a cooked breakfast of choice. All in all a wonderful break which we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend this B& B to everyone visiting Te Anau.
My husband and I stayed in the Blue Cottage overnight after a trip to Doubtful Sound. We thought it was absolutely delightful - the autumn colours and the beautiful garden along with scenic outlook were stunning. The Cottage was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and Jane was very welcoming and easy to talk to. A shame we couldn't linger longer!
Jane and Ross were wonderful hosts and their home is a beautiful hideaway outside a tourist town that's an excellent base for Milford Sound. We stayed in the blue cabin, which is secluded in the garden and overlooks the lake and fields. The bed and leather sofa were very comfortable, the bathroom was large and had a good shower, and there was a kitchenette with a sink. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed Jane's company and insight while we ate. We can't recommend this B&B highly enough.
Been in NZ for 4 weeks, 2 to go. Travelled from N to S Island stopping off for 1-2 nights at variously locations. Lovely cabin, wonderful owners, fantastic location. DO NOT MISS THIS OUT: ITS THE BEST!
The Croft offers 2 self contained (mostly) cottages on a small farm, just 1 or 2 km outside town. Each small cottage has a bed and small living area, a small kitchen area (really only a fridge and kettle for tea/coffee) with morning milk provided. Spacious and comfortable bathroom with large shower. And the view! Look out over green sheep dotted pastures to Te Anau lake. THere's plenty of walking (it's about 20 minutes to the lake and Jane will give you a map. Very best part: breakfast with the hosts. Jane and Ross are delightful and getting to know them (and family) was a highlight of 3 incredible weeks in New Zealand. I wouldn't even consider another place (unless they were booked) and hope to return to the area again. We visited the Sound but I'd love to stay a few…
