The motel is in a great location with views directly across the lake to the mountains beyond. The front gardens are immaculate, with a wide variety of flowers and plants. We received a friendly welcome at reception. We booked a ground floor King studio with lake view. It was a lovely room, with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. It was well decorated and maintained. The bed was comfortable. The room was a good temperature, and on the one evening it became a bit chilly the heater warmed it very quickly. We had a table and chairs on the little patio outside our room. There are nice walks in both directions along the lake side. It’s only 10 minutes or so walk to the village centre with a good choice of restaurants/bars/cafes/shops and two supermarkets. We had booked a Milford Sound tour with Trips and Tramps, and they picked us up right outside the door. There is a bird sanctuary just a five minute drive away (no admission charge but you can make a donation). We were very happy with our choice of accommodation and if we ever make it back to Te Anau would stay there again.…

Really, really great experience for the price. We chose a lakeside room and it was a lovely view. The room was clean and spacious, with all the utensils needed in the kitchen, and a nice, easy walk into town for anything and everything we needed. The only negative was the wi-fi, which was extremely unreliable.

We spent two nights here as part of an organised cycle tour (Around the Mountain). We were stoked to be dropped off here after having cycled 50km + from Walter Peak station. The motel is situated right on the waterfront and truely lives up to its name. The unit we stayed in was on the ground floor and the gardens out our front door were stunning. The unit itself was very clean and tidy and had all that you needed for a couple of days or longer (I’d happily still be there). You could comfortably cook in these facilities or there are any number of restaurants just a short walk away. The staff are friendly and there is a wee garage where you can store bikes and that sort of gear should you need to. All in all it’s a lovely place to stay.

Would thoroughly recommend this well located place. This was our third stay here and, again, we were completely satisfied with every aspect of our visit. The apartment was clean, well stocked with all the essentials, and had a perfect view over Lake Te Anau. The price was, by a considerable margin, the best value for money of all the places we stayed during our 5-week New Zealand holiday. Feel certain the negative reviews dating back to 2018 must relate to when the place was under different ownership. The staff we encountered were welcoming, efficient, and ready and willing to deal with any questions or queries. If booking, would recommend specifically requesting a first floor apartment with lake view.

We had booked a studio unit, and were very impressed that it was the biggest studio we have ever stayed in - queen bed plus a single and full kitchen. Only thing I would suggest is that they shift the TV from above the wardrobe - where I couldn't see it to the blank wall in front of the couch.

A great view of the lake and close to the shops. We had an upstairs 1 bedroom unit that faced the lake. The bedroom was small but adequate, and the lounge had a couch and dining table. It was perfect for a couple. The laundry facilities were good, and it was great to be able to get our washing done.

Beautiful lake view right in front of living room. My 1 bedroom motel unit is spacious for 4-5 adults, wifi is strong, bedding is adequately comfortable and comes with seperated toilet/shower. Only 1 unit of heater in living room but the beds in the bedroom come with electric blankets. An excellent place to stay for family.

we had room #1 Lake Facing King Studio with a fantastic outlook to the lake and in quiet location. the property is spotless - clean and warm and a pleasure to stay at. Guest laundry was excellent. plenty of parking on site. Hosts were excellent to deal with. Short walk to the town centre. Kitchenette is fully equipped and bathrooms are of high quality

Our lake facing king studio on the first floor was light, spacious and comfortable, with good kitchen facilities. Good value. The building is set well back from the road in beautiful manicured lawn and gardens, and true to its name - it has wonderful views. A 2 minute drive to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the peaceful, scenic outlook from our room and balcony to the lake and mountains.
