Wonderful spacious well appointed studio room, with fantastic views of the lake. The owners/managers were helpful and patient - we managed to break the washing machine but he just kept smiling. We snuck away in disgrace. Great place to stay in you're planning a coach trip to Milford Sound.
We had a very enjoyable stay for 2 nights at this motel in a lovely setting. All the rooms have a lakeview, typically at an angle. We were upstairs. The rooms are fairly basic, but large and with all the facilities you really need. The rooms have large glass areas making them very light and airy. The owners are very friendly and helpful and provided us with extra mugs for tea for our visitors without being asked. There is a good choice of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The ferry terminal for the glow-worm caves is similarly only a few hundred yards away. The motel has a laundry room
just returned from a month in NZ and 3 nights in Te Anau. Stayed at Radfords and was very happy with the room. We had a large two bedroom on the first floor. It was very clean, modern, and we liked the location.
This is a great place to stay in Te Anau. We were on the upper floor, directly facing the lake and beautiful gardens. Our two bedroom unit was spotless, nicely decorated, with a large bath and well equipped kitchen facilities, and we had plenty of room, with a balcony out front. It's just a short walk into town. We spent a day driving up to Milford Sound for the cruise and back. It was the single best day we spent in New Zealand, and the accomodations and hosts were terrific.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath suite at the end of February. These rooms would be great for a family. They have a wonderful view of the lake, a small outside patio area, and are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. The location was within walking distance to the major stores and restaurants. Te Anau is a great location for seeing Milford and Doubtful Sounds. We toured both with Real Journeys and they were one of the highlights of our trip. We also suggest you visit the bird rescue facility in Te Anau (Te Anau Wildlife Centre) to see some of New Zealand's rare birds.
