Surperb location with views across Lake Te Anau, a short walk to restaurants and the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre. Rooms are quiet and maintained to an impeccable standard. Service provided by Kerri is highly personalised and quite simply oustanding. My wife and I have stayed on 3 separate occassions prior to walking the Milford, Routeburn and Kepler tracks and are so impressed I literally signed up to Trip Advisor just so I could post this review. You wont be disappointed!

Sparkling clean, modern room with spacious bathroom and small kitchen located across the road from the lake and walking distance to Te Anau's main street. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Black out curtains and modern furnishing. The lady at the reception was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and advised us where to stop and what to see along Milford Road. Radcliff restaurant is very good. This motel has a beautiful bbq area with 2 large bbqs and high tables with bar stools. If we ever come back, we'll make sure to use it.

We were met by Kerri upon arrival she couldn’t be friendlier- she immediately welcomed us, gave us great advice, made us dinner reservations, showed us to our perfect, cozy suite which was so welcoming after a cold, wet motorcycle ride. We love this spot- can’t wait to see millford sound tomorrow. This hotel is perfectly located and we couldn’t be happier!

Right on the waterfront with lake views from most bedrooms. Just a short walk to restaurants and at least two supermarkets. Our bed was really comfy and the kitchenette had everything we needed for a night including a dishwasher. Kerri the owner was really helpful with advice and guidance. Nothing was too much for her. The property was spotless, the gardens immaculate and there were BBQs and washing machines available for those that needed them.

After a large storm that closed roads to Te Anau and Milford Sound, we thought our trip to the area might be completely cancelled. But Sherri made a personal call to us to let us know of a caravan that would allow us to continue our trip to the area that we otherwise
would not have known about. Many thanks again, Sherri. Radfords on the Lake was one of our most
favorite places to stay during our 3 1/2 week stay in NZ!!
We can’t say enough good things about Steve, Kerri
and daughter, Sherri. They are some of the most friendly and helpful folks you’ll meet. Kerri recommended Miles Piles for breakfast and Redcliff for dinner. Both SO great.
Your accommodations will be beautiful (directly across from gorgeous lake) and will have everything and more you’ll need to be comfortable. Also they have 2 laundry rooms at no cost and very very clean. This made things easy for us to regroup and continue on with our next adventure.
Look no further, stay at Radfords on the Lake, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

Hi Sea2Summit21, Thank you for your review, we are delighted to hear that you had a great experience with us and very grateful to know we were number one choice for accomodation during your stay in New Zealand. Thank you for being understanding given the nature of the weather events we've had here in Fiordland and still manage to arrive safe and sound in Te Anau by convoy. Here at Radfords we do our best to ensure we have thorough communication with our guets and do our best to make their stay is as stressfree as possible. Your kind words mean a lot to us and I will be certain to pass your feedback on to Shelly and the team. I hope you have enjoyed the remainder of your time in the South island and we would love to see you again in the future. Safe travels ! Kind regards Kerri and Steve

HI, We have great heating in all the units and we also have fans for the few days when they are required. Kind Regards Kerri
Hi Limsimseng
It takes about 2.5 hours to drive by car from Te Anau (where Radfords is located) to Milford sound. If you are looking to drive into Milford Sound and then back Te Anau later in the day it's a 5 hour round trip.
The road is windy in sections so it can be a tiring day trip, particularly if you're not used to NZ roads :-) You need to be careful to go with a full petrol tank if you are driving as there is no petrol station at Milford Sound.
You can stay overnight in Milford Sound although there are not many accommodation options. We did this and highly recommend it - gives you plenty of time to do a cruise and look around.
Also easy to get there on a day tour by bus from Te Anau.
If you are driving from Milford Sound to Queenstown (one way) it will take at least 4.5 hours. (Be careful because some websites and online maps indicate it's only a couple of hours ... but it's definitely around 4.5 hours and a long drive!).
Hope this helps!
