I can see that the management team takes pride in managing the property. It is very clean and well maintained. The location is good. Opposite the lake. Walkable to all amenities. We took an evening walk along the lake while the kids played at Lion Park. I love this place. Definitely recommended.

Hotel's Favourite
Occasionally, amongst a group of good hotels, you find a great hotel. This is one. We booked online after having read good reviews. Sat right on the front with views over the lake, and only a few steps from town we really enjoyed our two night stay. The welcome was fabulous, lots of good advice of where to go (Milford Sound)!! How long it would take us to get there and where we should stop en route. Then suggestions of where we should go to eat and drink. The room was superb, a separate living area and bedroom. A comfy big sofa, looking out towards the lake and a more than extremely comfortable bed. A great effort has been made to make Radfords stand out above others, and it shows. I would suggest that in a three week visit to NZ, this was the nicest place we stayed.

Spent 5 nights recently with family, apartment was spotless, beds comfortable, amenities more than ample. The staff friendly and the location on the lake and proximity to town and tourist pickups perfect. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Milford or surrounding region.

Short notes - clean, comfortable, well appointed and great location bed comfort was excellent. Grounds and facilities were impeccably kept. Rates in Te Anau are higher than other places but the price separation is FULLY worth it for the As mentioned in the title, Kerri was the hostess with the mostest! 10 out of 10. Her welcome was warm, hospitality sincere, and effort exceeded that of any other host on out trip to date. She went out of her way to find us accommodations for a second night in Te Anau – even if it was not at her property. We were hungry for dinner, but she took the time to review both accommodations as well as activities and sent them via text so we could discuss while refueling after a long day of travel.

Amazing lake views, comfortable room with a big tub which was needed after hiking - and Kerri treated us like friends as soon as we arrived. There was champagne for my birthday and she even brought us some Vicks as we were under the weather! Memorable stay. Thank you!

If you’re staying in Te Anau to explore Milford Sound, you have to stay here at Radfords on the Lake! Not only do you have beautiful views of Lake Te Anau but the rooms are extremely spacious and have modern furnishings and decor. In terms of bedding, the mattress is extremely comfortable and they use the softest bedding that is also sustainable! There are thoughtful small touches such as lavender for sleeping and the scent spray in the bathroom. In addition, there is a great outdoor BBQ and garden area at the back for guests to use. Most importantly, the host Kerri is super welcoming and provided great recommendations for things to do and dining options in the area. You can instantly feel how much she and the rest of the Radford's team care about their guests. We will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure to stay at Radfords on the Lake for 2 nights, and highly recommended it First of all, the location is excellent, in central Te Anau, with a view over the lake The surroundings are really beautiful, and I would suggest staying a day more than what one would have planned for Milford Sound to be able to explore the surroundings Then, the accommodation by itself is really good, it's not a hotel room, but actually a small apartment, with a kitchenette so you can cook (with induction plates, microwave, toaster...), and even including a dish washer There's also a washing machine that is free to use in the shared laundry room, with echo friendly laundry powder provided too (and a dryer for just 2 NZD, coins needed) The apartments are very comfortable, stylish & modern (there's even a heating above your head, first time I see that, very efficient) There's a free parking dedicated to their guests right in front Mountain bikes can be borrowed free of charge (upon availability indeed) A breakfast can be ordered, one that is both substantial & healthy, with fruits (I had kiwi, orange & grape), toasts, butter, jam, muesli, yogurt, chocolate, milk, fruit juice (that come on top of the coffee/tea/chocolate powder that are offered to everyone) And the last but not the least, the team in charge: It's a multi-generational family business, and I got to meet Kerri, who's extremely friendly, smiling, and flexible. She also loves to give recommendations for places to eat at, things to do, etc. And that is thanks to her that I learned about & got to watch 'Ata Whenua - Shadowland' (Fiordland on Film), an award-winning documentary showing the area from above (from an helicopter), and the reason why Fiordland Cinema (movie theater) was built in town as I was told by its owner Oh and when talking about the team I shouldn't forget to mention Dexter the cat, who was there to welcome me late at night :D Such a lovely one I warmly recommend Radfords on the Lake!

Sometimes you just have a feeling that you are welcome and people really care about you as a guest. This is the case at Radfords on the Lake. We had been back to Te Anau for another stay and when we walked in to check in, we were greeted with a big smile and Kerri came out to gave me a big hug. It has been years that we have been there and she still remembered everything about us. In one word, everything was just perfect. The room was still excellent and in great condition. The location takes your breath away in the morning, during the day, in the evening and at night. Right accross the street is the lake and it is just amazing to go to bed and wake up in such a scenery. Thank you so much for everything and making our stay perfect again. We will see you again next time!
