Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A super place to stay on our Around the Mountains cycle tour. We had 2 nights here the room sizes were amazing with plenty of room for people to move around and spread out the belongings. The breakfast provided was more than substantial. Easy to walk to our eating places.

The Asure Motel exceeded my expectations. Our room was huge and very clean with a large sitting area and a nice balcony overlooking lovely trees and yards. The little kitchenette was perfect for making tea or coffee in the mornings, the bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and temperature. Also, the decor was much nicer than I expected from a motel (even in NZ). The manager told us that it had been updated during the pandemic. The location is ideal, just a short walk through a pretty local park to the main street for restaurants, cafes and the grocery store. The one drawback, though it wasn't an issue for us, was that it does't have a lake view. There's also a sheltered outdoor picnic area with grills and comfortable seating for guest use. The staff were all very nice and we appreciated the guest laundry ($4 NZD per wash; $4 NZD to dry). Free parking too. For dinner, we highly recommend fusion restaurant Ditto. We ate there twice and got take out one night which we enjoyed on our balcony. Delicious!

This motel felt good right from the moment we checked in. Ahbi offered us fresh milk and carried our bags up to our first floor apartment. This might not sound like much but to a couple in their sixties these things mean a lot. The room was huge and, although it was an older style motel, it had been refurbished and was impeccably clean with all amenities. And it was just a short walk to the lake and townsite for restaurants, supermarket etc.

We stayed in an upstairs 2 bed apartment in this well situated motel in Te Anau. We arrived before check in time but our room was ready and we were warmly welcomed. The apartment was large with a lovely balcony overlooking the well tended gardens and bbq area. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didnt make use of the kitchen facilities apart from the fridge as we ate out. The toilet, sink and shower were in separate compartments of one room which was unusual but clean and functional. Definitely a good idea to book restaurants as they do fill quickly. Would stay here again.

We booked three separate stays for two nights each, as we arrived in Te Anau to head off for some of the Great Walks. The fantastic team held our suitcases for us while we were off tramping, and welcomed us with a smile every time we returned. The staff here are so lovely and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean and warm. The beds were super comfy. Located within an easy walk to the main street. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My husband and I stayed at the Asure Explore Motel and Apartments on our recent NZ South Island holiday. We picked Te Anau so we could visit Milford Sound. The weather had turned rainy so we chanced arriving at our accommodation early (before lunchtime). Our room was ready and waiting with housekeeping ensuring that all rooms were ready for early arrivals due to the weather. We were accommodated in a very spacious, comfortable and quiet ground floor apartment within walking distance of the lake and town centre. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

The room was very clean and tidy, and large too. We would certainly return here if we got the chance. It’s a 5 minute walk across the park to shops and eateries. It’s a good idea to book as they fill up pretty quickly around 5-6pm. Reception staff are very helpful.

This was a great stay. The unit was large and very clean. It opened on to a patio with chairs and table with a gazebo across the lawn. The flowers were very pretty and there were many birds. Super convenient to restaurants, grocery and the lakefront. There was a kitchen with dishes and cookware. We didn’t do the breakfast for $10 as we wanted to eat out. I’d stay again

I had stayed at this hotel with my family (wife and two boys, ages 9 and 12) as part of our South Island road trip. Our 2 bedroom unit was fairly spacious and could accommodate a family of six. The kitchen was fully equipped as well. The unit had easy access to a large garden in front and the surroundings were peaceful and quiet. It felt that we were in a nice residential neighbourhood, with walking access to the town centre. The bathroom was bit of a let down. The flush toilet was in a separate, very small room. The shower booth did not have glass wall (just a curtain) so the whole bathroom would get flooded. Overall, it was a decent stay.

The host was super friendly and attentive! She made us feel very welcome upon arrival and provided a lot of information to help us around. From the outside, we couldn't tell how spacious the room was! Decent area for kitchenette and bathroom. Very spacious living room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed plus sofa and dining area. The beds were very comfortable with adjustable heating. Room and toilet were very clean with good amount of towels. Wifi was a bit spotty at times and would be better if there is more space in the shower area to place more bottles. Anyway these are just minor issues. Overall, it was a great stay for 3 nights!
