Detailed Reviews
We stayed in an upper level Tanara apartment which is amazing. The view of the lake was unobstructed, we could sit in our Lazy Boys and look out or enjoy the view from the balcony outdoor setting or even from the bathroom! Separate toilet, in room washer/drier was invaluable and underfloor heating in toilet and bathroom. These are very modern units designed to cater for every desire, there’s even a TV to watch in the bath. Great setup in the kitchen with convenient dish drawer, a coffee machine which grinds its own beans and lots of bench space. Really good Wifi here too with a very generous daily limit. And now to mention the owner, Illeana, whose passion for the area and helpfulness would be hard to match. All her recommendations for activities and local operators were spot on and we enjoyed a wonderful floatplane trip with Wings and Water. This was a truly awesome stay and we loved all of our four nights of luxury, a great place to return to after full days of sightseeing.

My husband and I recently stayed here during a trip of the South Island. We spent three nights in the new block which was built late 2019.
We were blown away with our apartment. Wonderful shower and bath facilities. Great pressure, beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. The drinking bottles in the fridge and the washer/dryer were a great touch for the outdoor adventurers like us. The views over the lake were stunning, and the room warm, super clean, and well thought out. We will definitely be staying here again. We highly recommend you give it a go.

We stayed in an upstairs Tanara suite, which had been built end of 2019. The attention to detail where everything had been constructed and furnished to a very high standard may the stay exceptionally enjoyable.
We both agreed this one of the best showers we had experienced worldwide - bath and separate shower with many options inc 2 shower heads - though everything was well labelled and easy to operate as it was throughout the unit from the electric remote control blinds to the faux-fire.
All was thoughtfully designed including kitchenette/breakfast bar, and it was soooo relaxing to sit in the rocking/recliner chairs looking out over the lake and mountains... and all within walking distance of restaurants and shops.
On my wishlist to stay here longer next time!

We booked online into one of the older units but after the owner contacted us and offered a discount for booking direct , so we upgraded to one of the newer apartments (Tanara), also at a discount. This upstairs apartment was great - lots of special extras eg motion sensor night lights and a TV over the bath. We gave the bath a miss, mainly because it was still summer and the large shower was too good.
The views are great especially during helicopter and float plane landings on the lake out front. A window between the bathroom and kitchen allows views out over the lake from the shower. Pretty cool. Smart TV, wifi all work well. We couldn’t find anything that was missing. Extremely clean everywhere.
Te Anau is still very quiet due to the lack of international tourists. This probably won’t last much longer. An easy walk into the township for restaurants
Congratulations on the new facility and the attention to detail.

The ground floor apartment we had booked for three nights was spacious and comprised a super king bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with an integrated kitchen. While not being stylish the interior had a modern touch. We had direct access to a garden terrace and an unobstructed lakeview. For those who do not intend to use the kitchenette: The motel is just a 5 minute walk from Te Anau center with various restaurants. The Visitor Center is also close by - ideal for booking the Doubtful and Milford Sound tours. Our hosts were nice and helpful. And we were most grateful for the self-service laundry.
During our stay the new deluxe apartment building was about to be finished. Though we had been satisfied with our lodging I'm pretty sure that the new suites will offer an even better experience.

This is a great place to stay in Te Anau--not one of the most expensive properties but very nice with a lake view, very quiet, and yet just a short walk to restaurants and especially to water activities. At the easy initial check-in they provided free access to a currency adapter plug, and checkout was as simple as dropping our key in a slot. Blackout curtains made sleeping easy. Nice shower in addition to a bathtub.

We stayed in one of the new upstairs Tanara apartments which were excellent, very clean, high-quality fittings and furnishings including large, thick towels, filtered water, coffee machine etc. Really comfortable bed and laz-e-boys looking out to the fantastic view of the lake. Large ensuite with TV over the bath. Bonus was the separate toilet.

We stayed in one of the older units, with our 15 year old daughter.
The unit felt like it was new - specially the bathroom, and seperate loo. There is loads of space, and the views of the lake are superb.
It was lots of really thoughtful touches, like the fact that detergent for the washing machine is supplied, and the dryer is efficient and not too coin hungry.
The beds were super comfortable too

+1
We stayed at this motel for three nights recently whilst touring around New Zealand. We couldn’t fault the accommodation. The living area with bed, comfortable leather recliners, a kitchenette and dining area was spacious and very comfortable. There was a 50 inch smart TV. The kitchenette had a two ring hob, a microwave and fridge-freezer and a small dishwasher so you can easily self-cater if you prefer. The bathroom was large with an excellent shower and a bath with a TV at one end. There was also a washer/dryer - much appreciated if you’re on a long road trip. The view from the room over Lake Te Anau was beautiful. There was an outside private patio with a small table and two chairs. Te Anau itself has bars, restaurants and a supermarket and is only a short walk away from the accommodation. There are lakeside walks and helicopter, seaplane and boat trips available on the doorstep. The lady on reception (I don’t know her name) was very friendly and helpful. If you ask the day before you’re due to check out they will offer a late check out if they are able. I can highly recommend this motel.

I'll add my voice. That's quite a few people for this facility. These units are each privately owned as vacation homes and available only at each owner's schedule. I'm thinking you should check regular hotels.
Sorry Jill, I cannot confirm that as I never use them or remember seeing one.
Perhaps if you email the managers, they can enlighten you on that.
Ileana is a very lovely lady, I'm sure she would be happy to answer any questions promptly.
Regards
Steve
