Located on the shores of Te Anau Lake and a few minutes’ walk from the CBD. The room was quite spacious with a nicely appointed lounge/dinning area and a separate bedroom. Clean and modern as I was advised that the room had just been done refurbished. Pleasant and quick checkin with the owner providing plenty of information about what was to do and eat in the local area.

Our room was booked through a travel agent for us. Unfortunately we didn’t check website about the room otherwise we would have changed to a more modern hotel. This is like stepping into your grandparents retirement village home. It is desperately in need of an update and is not “upmarket” as described on its website. Rooms are not lake view but side street view with people and cars constantly passing your room. The door to villa has a draft comming through. The breakfast, which maybe a 5 year old would find filling, is served through a hatch in the wall. If you want a “cooked” breakfast, it consists of eggs, which you cook yourself. For the price of breakfast, it’s laughable. We decided to eat out instead. I can’t understand why there is a multi plug adapter on the floor. Surely this wouldn’t pass a safety inspection and would be a fire hazard. We actually felt like this put a damper on this particular part of our holiday and stayed out of the room for as long as possible after our activities and ending up spending most of our time at the local hotel bar. Don’t waste your money. …

You get an apartment including furnished kitchen. It was very spacious. Everything in it was convenient and comfortable. The staff was accommodating. There is a laundry onsite for use in recommended times. The location has just adequate parking (basically, one space per room). Good location across from the lake. You can walk to the restaurants of Te Anau and the visitors center.

5/5 Lakefront Lodge is a clean and comfortable place to stay when visiting Te Anau, New Zealand (nr. Milford Sound). The Walsh’s are lovely, informative and helpful Hosts and they can point you in the direction of a myriad of fund things to do in the area.

A superb place to stay. Extremely clean, well appointed, great amenities and a very comfortable bed! The host is excellent. Very helpful and kind. The best Lodge we stayed in!!!! Milford Sound was a great trip, organised by the host. One of the greatest experiences of our NZ stay.

We stayed here the night before traveling to Milford Sound early the following AM. The check-in process was easy and the location is good, near walking paths and beautiful views, it’s just a short walk into town. The room itself is nice, a tad bit outdated compared to other hotels on our NZ trip but didn’t bother us. The room was clean, had a nice kitchen area, sitting area, TV, and patio area outside. The bathroom had a towel warmer and heat lamp. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for your luggage, perfect for a small family or couple. Parking is literally right outside your doorway. Great convenience and easy for a quick morning getaway without making much noise. We ate at the Bailiez Cafe and Bar in town. Although you will see many options for food, if you don’t make a reservation beforehand (like us), you will have to wait until the evening rush is done to eat. We waited an hour and a half to eat, but the wait was worth it as the food was great and the staff was able to get us an appetizer and drinks while we waited, which helped immensely as we hadn’t eaten that day. The spicy potato wedges and Smoked Salmon fettuccini were especially good. We recommend this restaurant for anyone staying in Te Anau.…

There so much attention to details it would hard to put everything in. The kitchen was complete with a bottle local milk & Te Anau chilled tap water. There was a nice tea selection. You had an option to have breakfast items delivered to the room thru a locked cubby. The living room area was nicely decorated, very welcoming with a nice couch, day bed, table & coffee table. Door out the other side to a patio with a table. The bathroom was well supplied & had a towel warming rack. The tub was a nice size with bath salts. The bedroom was nice, there are stands on both sides of th bed complete with lamps you could turn off without getting up. They laundry room was very clean & the price of the wash included soap. All & all a wonderful little place by the lake.

Beautiful location with individual picnic tables out the sliding doors to enjoy a lake view with your dinner. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. Surrounding gardens are beautiful giving the lodge a homey feeling. Owner is super nice Great place to stay in TeAnau

Confortable big units with complete kitchen. We stayed at an unit with bathtub - it was awesome. All units have a small garden with a picnic table and chairs. There is a coin laundry for guests. The location is wonderful, very close to little city center. The staff is gentil and helpful.
