We were a family of four travelling for 20 days in the South Island of NZ. We wanted to stay in Te Anau to explore the area and in particular Milford Sound. This was the perfect base for us. The owners of this B n B are a lovely couple who take pride in their beautiful home providing clean and comfortable rooms. The location is only 5 minutes out of the town centre and well within reach by walking or cycling although a car would be recommended. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and assisted with organising some of the tours and activities for us. My elderly mother who was also travelling with us was particularly looked after one afternoon when she wanted to stay home after a long trip and the owner ensured she felt at home, even taking the time to show her around town a bit.The breakfasts were fresh and the choice was excellent with fruits, jams, hams, yogurts, cereals and freshly baked goodies and at the same time catering for our daughter's gluten free requirements without any problems. We have no hesitation in recommending this B n B and were very blessed to have met the owners. Thank you very much and hope to see you again soon.

We stayed with Doug and Linda for two nights when traveling as a couple early May this year. We were the only guests, so very comfortable.
Bed was big and comfortable, bathroom was *huge* and spotless, and the bedroom view is inspiring.. :-)
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and Linda's homemade muffins are a real killer. But best of all were the lovely hosts. We really felt at home, completely welcome, and enjoyed the breakfast chats very much.
Would strongly recommend, and not head anywhere else if we came back to Te Anau.

The room was very comfortable with fantastic views. The hosts were so friendly and managed to sort out our own problems very efficiently. They gave us great advice on eating and travelling. They knew the road to Milford Sound was blocked (rock fall), and let us know when it reopened. They arranged an idyllic boat trip for us there. We couldn't have asked for more. Linda's muffins were amazing. If you want somewhere to stay with a personal touch, don't think about it, just book it.

Thank you very much. At the risk of being repetitious it is always easy to host nice guests as they make our job enjoyable. We hope you enjoyed the rest of the South Island

My husband and I stayed with Doug and Linda for two nights whilst travelling through New Zealand. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and are very knowledgeable about the area. As we were the only guests we had sole use of the bathroom and toilet. Doug and Linda have two rooms but only take either a family or one couple, ensuring you are not sharing the bathroom facilities with strangers. The views over the lake and towards the mountains were wonderful, despite the grey skies and rain! Breakfasts were exceptionally filling and Linda's freshly baked muffins are well worth getting out of bed for. Our room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. On a down note....there were no tea making facilities in the bedroom, television or somewhere comfortable to sit to relax. Outside were relaxing chairs...but if the weather isn't too good, there is nowhere in the bedroom to relax...other than lie on the bed. I wonder if they have thought of converting the other bedroom to a bed sitting room, perhaps with a bed settee, television etc. On the whole though we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them and found them charming hosts.

We recently stayed 2 nights with Doug and Linda while my partner ran the Kepler Challenge. They went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly for us. The bed was super comfortable and the scenery around the property is just stunning. I particularly enjoyed being able to read my book lying in bed with beautiful mountain views from the bedroom. Breakfast was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed their company. We felt like we had had a relaxing weekend staying with family. It was great.

We truly enjoyed our 2 nights stay with Doug & Linda. They are very lovely hosts. The room was bright, clean and the bed super comfortable. The private bedroom had a tub and a spacious shower, very clean. Breakfast was amazing - Linda bakes the best muffins ever. We would definitely come back!

We spent two nights here, and what a stay it was. The house was charming and very well kept. The bedroom and bathroom were both huge and very comfortable, one of the best we had during our time in NZ. More importantly, Doug and Linda were great hosts and welcomed us with open arms. We felt more like friends than guests at a B&B, and really enjoyed our time there. We could not recommend this highly enough. Thanks for having us Doug and Linda, and we hope to see you again soon.

Doug and Linda were absolutely wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed spending time with them at breakfast and in the evenings. They made an effort to get to know us but also gave us space when we needed it. Their home is very spacious, and is located on a large property with lovely views of the lake and mountains. The bedroom was warm and comfortable, and we had our own large bathroom. Linda made an excellent breakfast for us each morning, as well as freshly-baked muffins for the road. Linda also did our washing for us. Doug gave us great suggestions of where to eat for dinner and which cruise company to book with for Milford Sound. I have stayed at a large number of bed and breakfasts and this is by far one of the best. I really enjoyed my stay (in fact, it was one of the highlights of my trip) and would strongly recommend it to everyone else. Thank you Doug and Linda!

Staying with Doug and Linda was like staying with family - a real home from home. They are so warm, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.
Beautiful home in a truly stunning location. Everything was spotlessly clean and very high quality. Breakfasts were to die for and with a stunning view thrown in. The rooms were very tastefully furnished. A lot of attention had gone into making sure we had everything we needed so our stay was really enjoyable.
If you stop in Te Anau, staying with Doug and Linda is a real must. Such a lovely couple.
