Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were expecting to stay in a stand-alone cabin, as indicated by the photos on the website, and the use of the word 'cabin' in the ad, but were very surprised when we were directed to stay in the middle unit of a row of adjoining rooms, i.e. more like a motel unit. We had specifically looked for a stand-alone cabin, as we wanted somewhere quiet to stay, without the issue of noise from adjacent rooms. Unfortunately being in the middle unit, we were kept awake at night until the other occupants went to bed, and then were woken up early in the morning (5 am) by the people in the adjacent room getting up, having a shower, using the kitchen etc. The walls were not very thick and you could hear the occupants talking, opening and closing cupboards in the kitchen (the single bed shares a wall with the kitchen), boiling the kettle, and using the bathroom, which was situated right next to the queen bed. The unit was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable, but I was very tired the next day and very disappointed by the level of noise, as we had been expecting a quiet retreat.

Eglington Vally Camp is the perfect launching and landing pad for Milford Sound, It is one hour from Milford Sound as opposed to two hours from Te Anau. The attached cabin was simple but clean with a great view from our front porch, We would definitely stay again.

The cabins were lovely, way nicer than I expected. Less than an hour's drive from Milford Sound. We had a really nice stay. The manager was even able to sell us some gas when we ran out on the way back from Milford Sound - really saved our trip! Would stay here again anytime

Everything was great. Well supplied cabin. Very clean. Staff attentive to our needs and helpful. Excellent location. Incredible view from our window. Comfortable bed. Shower water pressure was very good. My only complaint was that the pillows were too thick.. I did not ask for a replacement, so I don't know if they have alternatives. Highly recommend.

Great unit with fantastic views and very well located for loads of activities in the Eglinton Valley and, of course, Milford Sound. We had our own Southern Robin to greet us when we returned from our trips and there also appears to be a resident Tom Tit.

This area is a wonderful place to spend some time, lots of walks and places of interest. Eglinton Valley Camp is a great base within 60 minutes of Milford Sound, to explore the area. It is very well run, we stayed in a unit which was well equipped, clean and comfortable.

Perfect outback living. Great place to stay for a few days. Super clean - even the barbecue!, lovely staff and comfy beds, all the facilities you need to cook. We had some lovely walks right by the camp - the waterfall was truly memorable! Really exceeded our expectations.
