Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The 2 bedroomed apartment could have been better if there had been a second bathroom. The main bedroom was very cramped but had spectacular views across the lake. The second bedroom was well appointed with lots of room.
The lounge could have been better with a second sofa.
This apartment was booked to accommodate 4 adults (2 x couples).
Disappointed to find people walking on the patio to our apartment at all times of the day and evening and peering in through the windows.

We really liked our room, which was spacious, very clean, well equipped and had a lovely view of Lake Te Anau from the balcony. The motel is part of the Te Anau Lakeview Campsite complex, but it feels separate. The walk into town is about 20 minutes along the shore of the lake.

We were in the new part on the ground floor. Spacious room with kitchenette standard equipment. Spacious shower. Seating outside, with a beautiful view over the lake. Good place as a base for an excursion to the Doubtfull Sound. Several restaurants are available in the town. We explored the Doubtfull sound with RealNZ.

We had a great room, with a lovely view - sparkling clean, well maintained, and well equipped. The staff are extremely friendly and kindly stored our luggage when we went on an overnight boat trip. The park is quiet, and a nice place to appreciate the lake and mountains.

We arrived to find the place looking generally awful. Once in the room we were greeted with an overpowering stench like an old people’s home and the cheapest, most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever seen. We aired it out for an hour, went and had some lunch but when we returned to find the stench still persisting we just couldn’t stay. Despite having paid up front for two nights we just walked straight out. By some distance the worst accommodation we’ve found NZ.

Warm, spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable I've had on this trip, the heat pump had the room toasty on arrival. Kitchenette was perfect and had everything I needed to cook a meal. Gorgeous view of the lake and town, very close to the bird sanctuary and and easy walk to the centre. Feels separate from the holiday park and a really good value for money deal.

Great location, very clean and up to date. Staff part of larger caravan, cottage, campground complex so some what distant, but friendly. Modern, spacious and clean apartment with gorgeous view and private deck.
