We stayed two nights at High Leys. The home is beautiful with stunning views to the lake. The room was lovely, with a luxurious ensuite. The hosts were very friendly. And the breakfasts were fantastic. A menu to pick from, which was such a treat. There was also home baking which was very nice. It's an easy walk down to the lake. And only a few minutes from town. Lots of car parking. Everything you need for a luxury stay in Te Anau.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. The view, the friendly, welcoming hosts, the baking(!), the view, the manicured grounds, the sublime breakfast, the evening glasses of wine, did I mention the view!!??? Everything we experienced at the High Leyes Lodge was above and beyond. John and Sarah are the epitome of excellent hosting. They go out of their way to attend to your every need - even us pesky vegetarians and vegans :) Where High Leyes is located is so good it's ridiculous. The majesty of the mountain ranges backdropping the lake in panoramic magnificence right in front of the lodge is dramatic and dream-like. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Sarah and John for sharing your heavenly place with us. Can't wait till we come back one day. Jeremy and Antonia.

On arrival a warm welcome waited for us; the Luxmore room was everything we wished for and more: it offered the same unspoiled view on lake and mountains as the main lounge. All is luxuriously furnished with great taste. We had some nice and relaxing conversations with John and Sarah; about New Zealand and -our shared interest- travels around the world. After our Doubtful Sound overnight cruise, we came back to stay in a bit smaller room with the same view and furnishing. Breakfast offered quite a selection and was delicious.

Upmarket B&B with great views, fab breakfast and super hosts. Everything very clean, eco friendly and very welcoming. The lounge is a super shared area. Great base for the fjords. Highly recommended. Must visit Redclff cafe for dinner (try the blue cod.)
