Anchorstone Luxury Cabins - the name says it all. The cabins were spotless and very comfortable located in an amazing bush setting - we saw wild deer, Kaka, Weka on or near the property and spotted a Kiwi at Horseshoe Bay. Kath provided peanuts to feed the Kaka who fly to your balcony and eat out of your hand. Amazing...

Kath is awesome. We loved the place. Bed was super comfortable. Room was spotless. Car was a must and glad it was provided. Dinner booked by Kath at Church Hill was great and the highlight of our trip.

We loved our stay here. Great, warm, clean accommodation in a cozy cabin setting with ocean views. The rooms have an amazingly comfortable huge bed and powerful shower. Kath, the owner, is absolutely lovely. She picked us up from the ferry and was very helpful. She gave us a quick tour of the "CBD" and main amenities before taking us...

Thank you, Hannah, for your feedback. Yes, the rate for this type of accommodation is fairly standard for remote areas due to the extra costs of freight, power, and the logistics of sourcing goods and services. We do not service cabins as I personally dont like it if I am on holiday . Glad you enjoyed your stay. It was...

We arrived by air, Southland Air's Britten Norman Islander aircraft which seats 9 plus pilot. What a ton of fun. The weather was overcast but we flew under the cloud and watched Stewart Island loom out of the sea and through the cloud. A quick trip down from the air strip to the village beside the sea where we were...

This is a super place to stay, the room is very well done, the bed is comfortable. One can sit in the deck and gaze at the bay, listen to all the birds. Kath picked us up at the ferry terminal, gave us a tour of Oban and took us back to the cabin. We then had the use of...

What a little wonderland Anchorstone cottages are. Surrounded by pure peace and tranquility with amazing views of Horseshoe Bay. Cath picked us up from the wharf and made us feel so welcome and comfortable, offering tips on where to go and what to do. The cabins are super comfortable with everything you need plus some. The included use of the car...

The cabins are very comfortable and well equipped. The little extras made it very special and those home baked Anzac biscuits delicious. We had the rav 4 which made getting to town a pleasure as it a fair distance to walk. The $10 a day petrol is probably a bit steep as you are already paying $100 for the car,...

Kath looked after us, picked up from Stewart Island flights, 4x4 car was available for our use. Perfect little cottage, huige bathrrom, clean comfortable and didn't want for anything. It's self catering so you do what you want, we ate in and ate out. Shop in Oban the little village you arrive in before going to the place. The local...

A very restful stay in a wonderful location. We were made so welcome by Kath - the welcome began before we even arrived, with speedy responses to my email queries. The delicious lemon cake on our arrival was a real treat. The cabins were comfortable and had a great view of the nearby bay. The beach and a bush walk...

Anchorstone is a tranquil setting where you can wake to birdsong. The accommodation is really comfortable with the best bed we have ever slept in. It is a few km's out of town so yo have the use of your very own car which was fantastic. Home baking is there waiting for you on arrival, good coffee and a well...
