Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. There is an inside and outside balcony overlooking the bay, lounge chairs, tea and coffee. Pub downstairs on one side and cafe on the other side. It is almost like an English pub in atmosphere and community. Loved it.

The food here was my favourite on the island. Seafood chowder creamy and full of fresh local seafood. The baked cod was unreal. Gluten free brownie also delicious. Reasonably priced and large servings, highly recommend!

We were staying in one of the motels attached to the hotel when I wrote this. This hotel is ideally placed for anything you want to do as it is only minutes walk from the wharf where the ferry drops you off and central to everything. The model had a kitchenette which includes a bug, toaster, microwave and sink. The...

We had a group of 6 to do the Rakiura track. We stayed the night before the tramp and the night we got out. The staff made us very welcome and went out of the way to help us. Though it is an older hotel the rooms and facilities are being kept in very good order. We enjoyed the meals....

We managed to get a table without having made a booking. Big thanks to the staff for fitting us in. The service was good as was the food which I really enjoyed. The place does get very busy, but it is worth eating there so if you are planning to go, make sure you book a table. We didn't stay...

Booked two nights in a Studio Room and arrived to find that my room had mistakenly been given away. The Owner, Helen Cave, was understandably embarrassed but set about rectifying the mistake by firstly trying other accommodation to place me. As the Island was busy, she had no success. Without hesitation, she offered me a 2 bedroom cottage adjacent to...

Food is generous and filling. Staff are welcoming as are the locals. Great place to enjoy a few hours over a cold beer and watch the comings and goings. Breakfast was good and the coffee was spot on. Accommodation was a time warp but comfortable. But noisy to try and sleep before 10:30 pm though.

You will have to book for a dinner here as it is so popular. Great service very friendly staff. The outlook is wonderful. The cod is amazing and my grill mix was more than I could eat. Had to share with hubby. Was so excited to eat I forgot to take a photo.

Have stayed two nights at the south seas hotel, we have a motel room at the back of the hotel, large rooms, small kitchen with everything you need, nice and clean, staff very freindly, not at your room much as you will be out walking daily, and in the evening you will be in the bar or resturant, food great...
