Our 10 night stay at Balmoral Lodge in Queenstown NZ was the best place we have stayed at on any of our holidays! We were 4 adults and we booked the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the ground floor of the 3 storey lodge. It was perfect for us. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a laundry, together with a TV and eating area. In addition, the apartment had Foxtel and free wifi.
My title sums it all up...the view is to die for! Waking up every morning to uninterrupted views of the lake and mountains was magical! We can not fault this place at all. The apartment was exceptionally clean with everything we could possibly need.
Cis and her team are amazing. They are very friendly and always helpful, which made us feel very comfortable and made our stay so pleasurable. We were provided with daily housekeeping, even to the point of leaving us stocked up everyday on little treats such as chocolates and muffins! We felt like we were at home.
We would thoroughly recommend this unique apartment. It’s away from the hustle and bustle, but only a couple of minutes drive to the town centre or a 15 minute walk down the hill. (Be ready for a work out when climbing back up!)
The 2 bedroom apartment has access to your own rose garden, where we had many relaxing meals on the outdoor setting in the sun. It’s a peaceful and tranquil location.
We will definitely stay here again. We loved it and we loved Queenstown! 👌🏻

This was my first holiday in 20 years, i stayed here for 5 days with my brother and we felt like it was home away from home. Our hosts Sanso and Sis were absolutely beautiful, kind, caring and very welcoming. I would recommend anyone to stay at Balmoral lodge, you will not be dissapointed. I would most definitely come stay here again for future visits to Queenstown. The window views of the lake, mountains and the main town are absolutely breathtaking, and our room was cleaned and tidied everyday, this was an amazing experience in every aspect!!!
Thankyou for making our stay so pleasant

The Balmoral Lodge in Queenstown is a fantastic boutique lodge. Sitting up the hill just a short walk from the center of Queenstown, with an awe inspiring view, the Balmoral Lodge offers travelers all they need. The communal living room downstairs offers complimentary night caps as you look out floor to ceiling windows over the town and lake. Our room had a king bed (which had some of comfiest and softest sheets imaginable). Plus the oversized spa tub in the room was especially relaxing following a day of adventures in the Otago region. There is also plenty of off street parking along the edge of the lodge. Finally, being greeted as you arrive back to the lodge each time by Benji (the owners adorable and friendly little dog) is just the icing on the cake, making you feel at home each time you come back. Highly recommend and will look forward to staying here again the next time we’re in Queenstown.

Cis runs a clean comfortable, welcoming home away from home for your time in Queenstown. Private rooms and bathrooms with a lounge area that has some of the best views of Lake Wakatipu and queenstown! Be sure to have a glass of wine or port out on the deck to watch the sunset.

We were given new sheets and towels each day with fresh wine glasses, coffee, and snacks. The location is great for walking or driving - located in the hills of queenstown so views are guaranteed! Easy stroll into town and burns your beer calories on the way back.

We feel lucky we found this place!

My partner and I just wrapped up our stay at Balmoral lodge and we have absolutely no complaints! An awesome spot with amazing views. The room was very spacious and was kept immaculately clean throughout our stay. Coffee/tea supplies, muffins and chocolates were topped up daily when the room was serviced which was a lovely added treat.

Cis was a lovely host always offering great recommendations in the area if we needed ideas. Don’t let the fact that it’s located a little up the hill put you off, it just makes the views better and if I can make the walk to town and back at 33 weeks pregnant, most people can. Highly recommend and would love to be back soon.

We stayed at Balmoral lodge for 5 nights and it was the perfect place to stay after a long day skiing. Always warm and welcoming, Cis was always around for a recommendation or a chat. Our room was impeccably clean and we loved sitting on the balcony with cheese and wine and enjoying the view of the lake, mountains and cherry blossoms.
A short walk to local restaurants and free parking. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We spent two nights at Balmoral Lodge upon our arrival in Queenstown and another night (4 weeks later) before we departed. The host and hostess were warm and welcoming. They even had our room ready early after our long flight from California. The bed and linens were great and made for a very good nights sleep. The views are fantastic. On our last day we spent the morning watching the paragliders coming down from the mountain. We were on a cycling trip so needed to assemble bikes and sort gear. Our hosts readily made the garage and driveway available which was so helpful. We also stored luggage while we cycled the South Island. The lodge is a short walk to town but be ready for the hills. We walked down one night (10 min) but got lazy and took a cab back. All in all great stay!!

Balmoral Lodge is a great accommodation with an awesome experience of home away from home. Our room has best views of Lake Wakatipu and the location is accessible to the church, shops, cafes, parks, banks, and others. The owner and the staff are very hospitable, it has great room services, and the rooms and other amenities are really very clean and well sanitised. I will definitely recommend this accommodation to all my friends in Christchurch and in Singapore.

Our family just spent a week skiing in the mountains overlooking Queenstown. Balmoral Lodge was comparatively well-priced and close to town. We had the two bedder, ground floor unit. Extraordinary views (literally from your bed), private and bedrooms nicely at each end of unit, giving good separation from the kids at the end of a tiring day. 10-15 mins walk into town - last 100m is a bit steep (a small cost for those views from every room) or about $12 in a cab.
Really clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Exceptionally comfortable bed with sensational views over Lake and mountains, snow covered which was a surprise. An easy walk to downtown and a NZ$10 to $15 taxi back up to enjoy the views worth the ride or a walk I took the time to experience only once.
Enjoyed the complimentary whiskey in the guest sitting room, a nice touch and opportunity to meet other travellers. Hosts available to give information but not overpowering every time I arrived home. Something I have found I dont like ! The spa bath was also a treat.
