Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed in room 6, a nicely appointed large room with a king and twin bed, large bathroom with accessible walk in shower, and a mini fridge and tea/coffee making amenities. The room had a lovely view of the Skyline Gondola and was two steps away from the center of town - so convenient. There was free covered parking for our car. Staff was very friendly. We stayed three nights and had a delightful time. It was winter and the room was cozy. Highly recommend if you're looking for a clean, no-fuss, comfy stay in a great location.

We recently stayed for two nights at Coronation Lodge in a 1-bedroom apartment, and it turned out to be the best place we stayed during our one-week trip to Queenstown. Initially, we were hesitant to book this lodge due to the lack of elevator access (it’s only accessible by stairs) and because it’s a lodge rather than a hotel. However, it far exceeded our expectations.
The lodge is located up a small slope via a path beside Novotel Queenstown Hotel, making it about a 7-minute walk with luggage. After checking out, we discovered a flatter path opposite the lodge that leads through Queenstown Gardens to Lake Wakatipu, just a 5-minute walk away—much easier to navigate with luggage.
Grace, the reception lady, was incredibly kind and helpful. She assisted in carrying our luggage to the room on the second floor and even allowed us to check in early as we were leaving for a day tour at 1 pm. Her warm hospitality made us feel very welcomed.
The apartment felt like a true holiday home. It had a separate dining area, a living room with a sofa, and two separate balconies—one off the living room and one off the bedroom. The two beds we requested were comfortable, and the apartment also featured a kitchenette, a washing machine, and an air-drying machine. The parquet flooring added a nice touch of warmth, and the balcony and bedroom windows offered a beautiful mountain view, which was a pleasant bonus.
We made the most of the kitchenette by cooking dinner and breakfast during our stay, and we even managed to wash and dry our clothes before checking out. The convenience and comfort of this apartment made for an awesome stay, and I hope to bring my family back to this place again!

We stayed here two nights in February 2024 in a Deluxe Studio (king bed +twin bed with kitchenette). There is no elevator, and the free covered parking is limited (first come first serve basis). It is close walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars, grocery store, etc. Front desk/reception staff was very helpful. Room was very clean and the only thing that gave us a problem was the shower. There was no barrier between it and the bathroom floor. We had to put towels down on the floor so the water would not run all over. We would stay here again.

This is easily our top pick of accommodation options in Queenstown. The location is absolutely perfect, literary a few minutes walk to town through a beautiful garden. We booked the 1 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and homely - and was exactly what we wanted for a 3 night stay and being able to self cater our breakfast. The manager Jasmine was very friendly and she went out of her way to help us when we locked ourselves out of the room after reception had closed for the night. Overall great value for money and an excellent choice.

Just a 300 metres walk to the lake front and all the action of the eating drinking precinct the location is ideal. Our room was spacious with a large bed, nice bathroom, great shower, fridge, microwave, stove top and tea and coffee making facilities. Down stairs covered parking and a guest laundry.

What a fun and surprising stay. While it lacks the bells and whistles other places in Queenstown, for the price it provides excellent value. Central access to town (hidden road) while still being quiet, and free covered parking. Nice rooms and heated floor showers were a nice touch and the housekeeping was very good. Cleaned out the french press and gave new coffee and biscuits daily while making the bed. The view from our room was outstanding. Closet to store our coats. FYI no elevators here.

The lake front, centre of town and the eating, drinking action is less than 300 metres from here, you are so close yet out of the noise. Our room was spacious with a large bed, nice bathroom, good shower, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Downstairs there is covered parking and a guest laundry.

This was the last hotel on our 3 week road trip around NZ. We spent two nights here and while we paid a little more for Coronation Lodge than other places it was well worth it. Central but quiet location by the lovely Queenstown Gardens, views of the mountains from the balcony, and a large and very comfortable bedroom. Convenient parking underneath the hotel with street parking also available outside. Queenstown is fab and this is a great base to explore it.

Stayed two nights in very clean comfortable twin room. Great location, especially with no vehicle. Double and single bed very comfortable, balcony nice on warm afternoon.
Top floor might be better due to noisy guests above otherwise no problems.
No milk available from arriving until later next morning. Was told due to order not completed but lady was very busy doing everything. We noticed staff issues throughout Queenstown at this time

Hi Hazel,
Thank you for your request.
Our rooms have little mini fridges, which usually have a freezer as well. Though, some of the freezers are openly connected to the fridge. Should this be the case in your room, you are more than welcome to store your gel packs in the fridge in our kitchen, which is accessible between 7am-8pm.
We are looking forward to welcome you in our Lodge!
