Speargrass Rise B&B is in an amazing location that provides the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is immaculate and features stunning views. The room was incredibly spacious and had everything you need. To top it off, Michael and Samantha, the hosts are absolutely lovely and go the extra mile to ensure your experience is A+. Highly recommended.

We appreciated the warmth and hospitality of Michael and Samantha. Their home is lovely with expansive green views of rolling hills and snow capped mountains above. We stayed in the ground-floor room with en-suite. Everything was sparklingly clean with good heating and the bed was very comfy. Breakfasts were fresh and delicious with plenty of variety. What a bonus to see the beautiful native NZ Tui and Fantail at breakfast each morning as they swooped in for a drink of sugar water. Loved our stay.

Staying here was simply amazing. It was the best choice we could have made. Sam and Michael were amazing host (and Brigette too of course!). The room was so very comfortable and had everything we needed. Clean and well stocked. Michael helped with suggestions of places to go and do and even assisted with the bookings before we got there. To make things even more wonderful, their hot tub and with its amazing view of the mountains made for the most amazing marriage proposal!

The most amazing B&B we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot of B&Bs) The location is perfect, stunning views across the countryside to the ski slopes, it’s so peaceful and quiet, on a morning you can see the hot air balloons flying over. The breakfast is the most awesome with choices of everything (and so grateful for all the gluten free options you provided for me) The room is bright sunny, really toasty warm in winter with everything you could possibly want or need in a room and more! There is also a comfy relaxing lounge and heated outside space and a beautifully situated hot tub. There are bikes you can borrow and a telescope to look at the stars. Michael and Sam are lovely hosts and we would recommend to everyone and will definitely return.
