We first stayed here in 2008 winter holidays, renting a 3 bedroom, 2 story, 165 square meter townhouse with full kitchen, living room and laundry machines in the unit - at that time the property was owned by the Heritage Hotel which is across the street. In late 2013 it changed hands and is now called the Platinum Villas. The building is 1 mile (1.6 km) from downtown Queenstown and a nice walk along the water to get there. So it is much quieter than staying downtown and the view over the lake is fantastic. We decided to go again during 2013 winter holidays and enjoyed ourselves. I gave it a four star rating because our units could use a bit of updating such as painting and floor refinishing. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. I'd go again, and I already did.
my family and I booked to stay at the Platinum Queenstown Villa after tracking in the routeburn track, and we couldnt have been happier! We were welcomed by very friendly and warm service, and Renee and Chris (the managers of the place) had a wealth of knowledge about things to do in the surrounding area and were more than happy to chat with us. The villa itself was perfect, with alpine views, and some views of the lake as well, it combined a mixture of elegance and comfort. It was much better than staying in a hotel in separate rooms. Here we stayed together, in a self contained and comfortable place, and it was definetely value for money. The Villas are about 20 min walk to the centre of town, and a less than 5 min drive. i absolutely recommend this place!
