Adrian runs this 'hotel' with a passion and attention to detail which makes it an ideal vacation villa. We have two young kids (6 yrs and 2yrs) and they had an absolute blast in the villa. The french windows opening out onto a gorgeous lawn with views of the lake and mountainside remind you of where you are. Every evening ended with us popping open the windows, opening a bottle of wine and letting the kids run free on the lawns. Summer meant we didnt use the cute fireplace, but the living area downstairs is spacious and well furnished. The full kitchen makes it ideal to fix snacks for the kids and whip up a warm breakfast. Fully stocked cutlery and crockery makes meals a pleasure. The bedrooms are of a nice size though only the master bedroom is truly large. The best part was…
Adrian offered our family a friendly warm welcome and excellent service with a lit fireplace on our arrival. We were awestruck by the picturesque view of the mountains and lake from the dining/lounge/balcony of the luxurious three bedroom villa. Rooms were well maintained and provided comfortable and practical living space. We truly enjoyed our three night stay and would recommend this villa to any travellers wishing to soak up the beauty of NZ at their doorstep. :-)
Stayed three nights in a Lakeside Villa prior to family members doing the Routeburn Track. Magnificent uninterrupted view across Lake Wakatipu to the Remarkables. Accommodation comfortable, spacious and completely self-contained. It was cool when we arrived and Adrian ensured a warm welcome by having the fireplace lit. He and Renee were incredibly helpful and obliging throughout our stay. Free parking for two vehicles in front of each villa was appreciated and it was a short drive to town (or very pleasant walk along the lakeshore to the village for the more active in our group). Would definitely recommend for family groups or visitors travelling with hire cars.
Situated right on the lake, this three bedroom villa was perfect for our family Xmas holiday. We stayed 4 nights and didn't want to leave. The villa was well maintained with everything a travelling family needs. We would book our next NZ holiday around the availability of this villa. Would absolutely recommend. It is a little way out of Queenstown, but that means it is very quiet.
We first stayed here in 2008 winter holidays, renting a 3 bedroom, 2 story, 165 square meter townhouse with full kitchen, living room and laundry machines in the unit - at that time the property was owned by the Heritage Hotel which is across the street. In late 2013 it changed hands and is now called the Platinum Villas. The building is 1 mile (1.6 km) from downtown Queenstown and a nice walk along the water to get there. So it is much quieter than staying downtown and the view over the lake is fantastic. We decided to go again during 2013 winter holidays and enjoyed ourselves. I gave it a four star rating because our units could use a bit of updating such as painting and floor refinishing. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. I'd go again, and I already did.
