The Central Private Hotel By Naumi Hotels garners praise for its prime location, providing guests with a tranquil yet central base to explore local sights. Many guests appreciate the generous amenities, including the free snacks and happy hour offerings. While the service is generally celebrated for its friendly approach and thoughtful gestures, a few guests have had less stellar encounters.
The well-appointed, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and unique design elements are a hit among visitors, though some consider the pricing a bit high. The hotel's cleanliness and quirky charm contribute to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

Detailed Reviews

The hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Queenstown. Once we got dropped off from the airport, we didn’t need a taxi until we returned to the airport.
The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, and ensured we had a great experience. The room came full of thoughtful touches (like the complimentary snacks, juice, and coffee). The hotel has a happy hour each day with complimentary wine and charcuterie that was divine.
We also had to do a few loads of laundry and found their facilities to be well maintained and stocked with everything we needed.
The location makes it easy to walk into the heart of Queenstown, the beach, or the skyline. We also did an excursion to Milford Sound (highly recommend) and the hotel’s location made for easy pickup and drop off.
Queenstown was the highlight of our trip and the hotel’s location made played a big part in that. Highly recommend.

With only 15 rooms in the hotel, you feel as though you are personally being looked after. From the complementary in room snacks to the free use of the laundry including washing powder, it felt like a home away from home. Very stylishly decorated, clean and warm, we loved every minute of our stay at the Central. Walking distance to town. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again or recommend.

One of the best hotels we have stay. Period.
The room is cozy, warm, and exceptionally clean. For us this is 5 stars hotel experience (we stay at Hilton the following night, worst experience ever, that one goes to 1-star category). This place has everything you hope for, from toothbrush to free mini bar. The reception also go above and beyond to help us with our traveling experience.
The toilet has a self heated flooring, the complimentary milk in the fridge is locally made (not one of those store bought from countdown). I can name much more to spoil you, but I won’t do that. This is a hidden gem in Queenstown, we will recommend everyone to stay.

The room was very comfortable and spacious, but also hip with nice art and minor touches that we appreciated, like the use of sustainable cups. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and had good tips for the area. The location is great because although it is only a short walk to the downtown area, the hotel is quiet and private. If you can get the room with the spa tub it is absolutely worth it, especially after a chilly winter day. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is not meeting the five(5) star criteria despite Booking says the otherwise.
1) We made reservation via Booking and paid over NZD 2K for two nights and were given a humid room in the basement without communicating before. There is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage downstairs and upstairs.
2) No staff is around after 6pm which is the most ridiculous thing for a five star hotel.
3) The poorest breakfast I’ve ever seen even at any three star hotels. No hot service is provided, only cold boiled eggs… They refuse making anything else. We skipped the breakfast on day 2 of our stay although it was included in the price.
4) As if we were at a motel or apartment we did everything ourselves such as laundry…
5) There was no sufficient light in the room which felt not clean. Also very old furniture.

Kia ora Sezgi, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I’m sorry to hear your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We understand that New Year's can be a particularly busy period, which influences room rates, but we always strive to deliver value and comfort to our guests. Our hotel spans three levels, and while we aim to accommodate all preferences, specific room requests can be arranged if made in advance. Cleanliness is something we take great pride in, so I’m disappointed to hear this wasn’t your impression—your feedback will be reviewed carefully. We appreciate your thoughts and will use them to improve the guest experience. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a much more enjoyable stay. Ngā mihi,

The rooms are very hip and art deco but cozy and quiet. There is so much attention to detail and little treats. The room has everything you can think of needing and more. The staff move quickly and quietly to tend to the fire, replenish snacks, and help in anyway possible. The location was great because you were within walking distance of everything but not awkwardly in too busy of an area. Honestly probably one of the best stays I ever had- wish it was longer!

We spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. There is a small car park but on street parking as well. The rooms are stylishly decorated with a fridge stocked with free canned drinks as well as crisps and snacks in the room. Additionally there is a lovely residents lounge where breakfast is served as well as complimentary wine and beer and snacks every evening. The laundry was a welcome after a few weeks on the road as well. Amazing hotel definitely recommended.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel offered a delightful one-hour happy hour featuring a selection of beverages, including beer, red wine, and white wine. To complement the drinks, there was a spread of delicious snacks such as cheese and ham, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It was a fantastic touch that truly elevated the overall stay.

The Central was the hotel we enjoyed the most during our entire trip to New Zealand. It's cozy, clean, quiet and the staff went extra to make sure we were cared for an had a comfortable stay. The location is very close to CBD in Queenstown, just a few minutes walk, making everything we wanted to do very convenient for walking.

Amazing staff who really go out of there way to make you feel welcome and can’t do enough for you, they are certainly a credit to this establishment. The hotel puts on a complimentary happy hour each late afternoon where you can mingle with other guests over a wine, beer and nuts. The location is ideal, just a short walk of around 3 minutes to the centre of town, the rooms are very clean and eclectic which makes a lovely change over a boring standard looking room and the beds are extremely comfortable. Definitely worth staying here for the service given, the location and it’s just a fabulous boutique style hotel.

Hi,
Probably best to contact accommodation place direct as not all places are the same.
I think by memory ours had a king bed and the room was very large as well. The view wasnt that great, that was on the ground floor, maybe ones on the 1st floor would be better.
