My wife and I stayed here several nights and had a great stay at Browns. The rooms are good sized, we had a nice view of the city and the lake, the breakfast they provided each morning was good, the rooms were clean, the host was helpful and the location is great. You really don't need a car once you arrive as all of the place to eat and shop are in walking distance and tour pick up locations are either at your front door or in the downtown area just down the road. We really enjoyed our stay in the area and wish we had booked a few more days in Queenstown as there is so much to do and it helped that the weather was so nice as well. Highly recommend staying here based on all of the info listed above and especially the location being so central to everything.

Room Tip: room on city side is nice as it face the lake and the town. We were on the top floor.

The location of the hotel is just perfect - away from the noise and bustle, but a short walk (max 5 mins) to the town centre, partly via a private walkway. Plus, the views from the elevated position are stunning. Added to that, the hospitality from Peter-Ray was just incredible, and it was like staying with a good friend. So helpful and accommodating. The accommodation is very comfortable with all amenities required and the continental breakfast was great. This is not a "glitzy" hotel like some of the larger chains, it has that "homely" feeling which we like when travelling.

Browns Boutique Hotel is a quaint and friendly accommodation close to the centre of Queenstown, styled as an alpine lodge and with classic kiwi hospitality. We stayed there in summer either side of completing a 3-day hike. Peter Ray was very helpful, making up a packed breakfast for our early start and storing our luggage that we were not taking on the walk until we returned. The hotel rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was great, representing very good value.

I don’t usually write reviews but Skye and Angelo went above and beyond to earn 5 thumbs up. The breakfasts prepared by Angelo were incredible and even included an impromptu bread making demo. Skye took care of a glitch we had with one of our plannned outings and both Angelo and Skye eagerly suggested outings that turned out to be highlights of our stay. The hotel is centrally located on the hilly side of Queenstown with great views and spacious rooms. Their attention to detail is evident throughout including the dining room and adjacent living room which made our stay feel like home.

Actually it is located just a block or so from the edge of the restaurant/shopping area, all within walking distance via a private walkway. Beautiful back patio setting, excellent breakfast, lovely rooms with great view of the city. Owner/manager Peter-Ray Moroney made us welcome, even when we showed up early. And he offers free concierge services, a great boon when one is new to town! A great place, not a cookie-cutter motel!

A pricey and very average hotel that I booked on Booking.com for one night this Easter. When we arrived I was not welcomed, but was berated by the host for booking my stay with Booking.com. which he had huge issues with. He basically scolded me that I should have booked directly as I had paid 16% more than if I had gone directly to him.
I had stayed there many years before and had always had the breakfast included. However, this time I was told it would only be included if I had booked directly . Now he grumpliy told me I had to pay a whopping $68 extra if we wanted breakfast. He continued to rant about how foolish I was which I found rude and unwelcoming.
The room was adequate, although there was no soap in the bathroom nor milk for a cup of tea, which I guess are minor issues but I was so upset at his rudeness that when I had to go to the office twice I felt like leaving . Not much of a view.
No parking despite this being advertised.
I recommend staying elsewhere.

We booked the "honeymoon package" for a 3 night stay and were thrilled with the hotel. We met the owner at check-in who showed us to our room which had a nice balcony/view of town. We enjoyed the bottle of bubbly at check-in as well as the airport transfers which were seamless. The massage included in the package was a major highlight as neither of us had experienced a true Japanese massage before.
The hotel itself is very conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from town, but removed from the loud bars/clubs which bump into the early morning hours. The manager convinced us to book the TSS Earnslaw dinner (and actually booked it for us/charged to our room) and that was a major highlight of our trip. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews as our stay was near perfect.

We stayed at Brown's Boutique Hotel on 3 separate occasions during our time in Queenstown and couldn't have been happier with Angelo, Sky, and their gorgeous and friendly cat, Tiramisu. They were gracious hosts that made you feel like family and often had a fire going on the terrace in the evening. Moreover, they had terrific recommendations (The Boat Shed, Arrowtown) and Angelo's baked goods at breakfast were a treat that we looked forward to every morning. Brown's is super convenient to everything in Queenstown and our hosts were incredibly accommodating, holding baggage for us during extended trips to Fiordland and Stewart Island. Thank you for a memorable vacation! - B&L

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brown's Boutiqe Hotel in Queensland. From the moment we checked in till the moment we left the Managers, Skye and Angelo, made us feel at home. Facilities were very nice, location was excellent (close to the Gondola and close to downtown and the water), but the best part was the personal attention we received from Skye and Angelo. From homemade breakfast to discussions around the fireplace on the back patio, making reservations for an experience for us, to the Bread-making class Angelo gave us, this was a unique experience. With just 10 rooms this is much more like a cozy B&B than a Hotel. My only suggestions would be that our bathroom needs a little updating; and for those who prefer a cooler environment, I'd say Air Conditioning in the summer months would be valuable. We spoke to Skye and Angelo about both these items, and they are aware and would like to have these addressed in the near future.
New Zealand is a long trip for us (coming from Oregon in the USA), but we can say with certainty if we return to New Zealand we will definitely book again at Brown's Boutique Hotel.
