Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disgusted at how unhelpful management were when our flights were cancelled for reasons that were completely out with our control. Zero cares we’re given. I will never book this accommodation again. . .

A fantastic place to spend a few days for winter skiing or summer sightseeing. Centrally located but in a quiet street. Hosts/owners could not have been more welcoming. Breakfasts are not to be misse, with a choice of freshly cooked meals, complimented by a choice of cereals and fruit. I would recommend the Big Breakfast if you have a big day planned. Rooms are not large but the space has been well planned with tea/coffee making facilities with milk available in the guests shared fridge. There is also a small fridge in the room. We also chose to pay for the laundry service during our 6 night stay. All done in a day and far better than using valuable holiday time sat in a laundromat.

The property was very convenient to walk throughout Queenstown. The rooms were very clean and the hosts were very helpful. The breakfast was well done. At the end of the day, we relaxed on the balcony and had views of The Remarkables and the lake.

Chalet Queenstown didn’t live up to its billing Not 5min walk from central Queenstown - 10 min for an Olympic athlete and 15-20 for lesser mortals. Not a ‘boutique’ hotel in the generally accepted meaning of that term. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The view from room 5 would be greatly improved by some trimming of trees. Was left feeling we had overpaid for nice room in a b&b.

Stayed 28-30/11 during 1 month trip around New Zealand. This is such a lovely typical ski chalet and brought back memories of skiing in Europe. Rooms small and comfortable, view of the mountains. Shashank and Isha were really pleasant hosts who respected your privacy but were really helpful if needed. Breakfast very tasty. Situated close to centre but required a very steep descent and ascent which was no issue as we are fit and love walking. Queenstown a typical lively ski resort or mountain bike/trek resort out of season. Fun to explore. Drive from Franz Glacier to Queenstown was spectacular.

Room very small, but clean and comfortable. Bathroom even smaller, shower ok. Insufficient tea bags poor quality and cheap coffee. A bit of a trek down to the town down hill and back up again. Parking tight but adequate. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

Response from Isha Dang, Owner at Chalet Queenstown

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Tea and coffee bags are refilled everyday during housekeeping. We provide Dilmah tea and coffee brand range which is quite premium and on higher side. We are privileged to be little bit (5 min walk) away from town which makes us unique in providing the best view of the lake from the rooms. And zero traffic noise. Plenty of parking space available can easily fit camper vans as well. Sorry for not meeting up to your expectations, Do give us a chance next time and enjoy our hot and continental breakfast. Regards Reception.

Very nice friendly people who would do whatever you ask. Rooms were very clean and well appointed but we were in on a very hot day and felt aircon would have been great, but did not take away from the people and room. They also bought the breakfast forward a half hour for us without any hassle as we were getting picked up for a LOTR tour at 8am. Highly recommended!!

Friendly family owned business. Rooms aren't huge but have good sized beds as well as being clean and comfortable. Plenty of lounge space if you want to stretch out and relax. Nice views out to the lake and less than a 10 minute walk into town. Free cooked breakfast was delicious and made a great start to our day. Highly recommended.
