Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service was the best we experienced in Queenstown. Great location, the bus stops only a few meters from the front. Breakfast was amazing and well priced. We were there for 4 nights but didn't get to have dinner there, I sure it would have been amazing. We did have a coulpe of the tasting plates while waiting for our room and the flavours were incredible.

Hotel's Favourite
I'm not sure where to begin because I'm still in awe at what a remarkable stay I just had at Kamana Lakehouse! From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Jamie and Farah and we immediately felt at home and almost as if we were family. They both were so fun and engaging making our first stop in New Zealand memorable. We opted to upgrade to a lake view room, and it was so worth it - the views are nothing short of breathtaking, and it makes the property that much more amazing. The hotel is about 5-7 minutes from town via car, or about a 30 min walk if you want to get your steps in (down to town is a breeze, and you'll get nicely toned on the walk up!) While a bit further from town than other hotels that are in the heart of the downtown area, this is what sets Kamana apart - a bit of seclusion but close enough to the fun, and the views from town vs. Kamana are evident - Kamana's views of The Remarkables and Lake Whakitipu are unrivaled! Breakfast was included in our rate at their in-house restaurant Nest. Do not sleep on Nest! It's actually a very hard reservation to come by for dinner, and the food and service are impeccable. This isn't just run of the mill food, but rather a culinary experience and the Google review on the restaurant are proof of that! We enjoyed cocktails here, dinner, and our daily breakfast and it never disappointed. Highly recommend Kamana Lakehouse, and it'd easily be my choice the next time I'm in Queenstown. Hands down! p.s. thanks again to Jamie and Farah for being so fantastic, not just at check-in, but daily as they'd chat with us as we were heading out or coming in and that personalization is so integral in hospitality!

Incredible views. Unbelievable! Worth every cent. Used the hot tubs which was a relaxing and breathtaking experience. Hotel is in neighbouring suburb to Queenstown, only a two minute drive to city centre but hidden away from tourists and traffic.

Kind staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. There were excellent views from the dining area. The hot tub experience is also very nice and directly overlooks the lake—definitely book in advance though as there are not many.

Our ground floor room had a awesome view out towards the remarkables, staff are lovely and rooms are clean and modern. Beds are comfortable and breakfasts are superb, we walked down through the Fernhill track once into town, it was a nice walk but very narrow and steep in parts with loose gravel so be careful, the bus stops close by and is $4pp per ride or buy a card (bit cheaper if you use it more)

We were very disappointed with how loud our room was. We could hear everything from the restaurant/bar area so didnt get any sleep. The room was tiny. However, the friendliness and attention to detail from the staff could not be faulted

Take me back! This place was a great stay. A few short mins drive from the centre, views stunning. Breakfast was delicious. The restaurant is absolutely stunning for breakfast and evening cocktails by the fire places. The dinner and snack menu is limited but there are so many places around near by to eat and drink. We had a great time in the hot tubs, got some great pics. Rooms were nice, minimalist, had everything we needed after the days exploring, more than spacious enough for the 4 of us. The staff were lovely.

I would stay with Kamana over & over. Their service was fantastic, we didn’t have a meal at the property although we did have drinks and snacks in the lounge areas around the fireplaces and we couldn’t be more relaxed or fuller. The staff were very friendly! I’d rate my stay there 10/10 Renee & Campbell - Australia
