Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Highly recommend. Excellent hotel in a perfect location in the heart of Queenstown. Super comfortable beds and very clean you can walk to everything which saved hunting for car parks. Staff were friendly and helpful too. I’d definitely stay here again.

This is a nice, modern, clean hotel. Views from every corner of any area. The onsite restaurant is a nice addition as there's not much in walking distance and the chef prepared an enjoyable meal. Comfy bed, clean throughout. I will have to come back in Winter to get the postcard view. Staff were helpful anywhere. There is bike tracks everywhere to take in the scenery if you're that way inclined. Or just stay in the nicely appointed room with a bottle of red. Enjoy!

Beautiful hotel and was pleasantly surprised, given that HIE is not usually impressive. This facility was built in the last few years so everything is new, tech enabled, and clean. Queenstown doesn’t have many upscale resorts so this spot is probably one of the better places you can stay, especially given the convenient location. Prices are also very reasonable.

We stayed here for 2 nights and picked a room with the lake view. Highly highly recommend! Beautiful balcony seating with unobstructed lake views. Saw the clear dark sky in the night. Just for that this is a 5 star rating for me. Breakfast was decent, staff was very courteous and friendly. Room was very clean.

This is by far the worst hotel experience in Queenstown after staying in multiple hotels here. First of all the first impression of this hotel is that of a cheap shabby rundown lodge that must have been in operations maybe 100 years ago and has recently been taken over by holiday inn management. The management seems untrained and unreceptive. Now we come to the rooms. The rooms look like that of a motel 500 years back. We had booked a lake view room which it did have. But apart from the view the room lacked basic living conditions. We had booked a room for 2 persons and yet there was a big single bed in the room apart from a double bed which took away every inch of walking space and also not a tiny inch to keep your luggage. When we requested the reception staff to do something about it they just flatly refused. They could have come and put the beds together to make space like other hotels do or suggest an alternative. This shows the level of sub standard hospitality this hotel offers. The bathroom is soo rundown and not even basic toiletries are provided. There is no proper flow of water from the shower. Now the breakfast. Anybody booking this hotel please do not take breakfast. They serve only siders in the name of breakfast. This is the first hotel of this level which has refused to serve pancakes at an extra charge even durina breakfast when I reauested saying that since pancakes are an all day menu we will not serve during breakfast even at an additional charge. Please stay away from this hotel at all costs since this is a very old hotel and very very bad standards if you compare with other hotels of this category. Also the location of this hotel is not the best. Would suggest Ramada, Novotel, Rydges Crowne Plaza in this category which are much closer to the main attractions.

This is a well located nice modern hotel. The rooms are small but somewhat efficient. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They do have a laundry which was excellent. HOWEVER, they did not put a luggage rack in the room. You have to use the table and one of the chairs. So only one chair is available for use, very inconvenient.

It looks like a motel on the outside initially. Perhaps it was late at night. However we were warmly welcomed and check in by the friendly front office. There is free parking if you having been driving down from other cities. A very good location situated just next to the magnificent looking lake. Rooms are very well maintained. Breakfast range is decent and service personnel Mu have been very helpful throughout. Suitable for families

Not my normal choice when I am on holiday as I like to be centrally located and within easy walking distance of shops and sights, however, booked as part of an overall escorted tour of New Zealand by the tour operator. It wasn't ideal that it is so far out of town but it did offer up lovely lakeside views. i didn't attempt to use the coastal walkiing path as Queenstown was too wet, but did use the local bus to get back and forth and must admit they were cheap, numerous and easy to use. On the down side, the hotel is up quite a steep hill from the road which is quite a climb and my room was in a chalet block at the back with no actual view other than some tarmac. Would be a lovely overall setting in better weather though.
