Travellers' Choice
Built around Queenstown’s original dairy dating back to the 1920s, this boutique hotel offers exquisite rooms featuring botanical themed wallpapers from House of Hackney (a first in New Zealand) set against the backdrop of the picturesque views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu. Immerse yourself in a private home away from home – unwind in our sumptuous lounge where complimentary drinks are served nightly between 5pm-6pm, curl up in our private library or take in the stunning beauty of the landscape in our outdoor jacuzzi. Location really does dazzle with the hotel just moments away from the buzz of the city centre.

I feel like I have stayed in about 1000 hotels, etc. over my lifetime and I am an adventurous traveller who doesn't like to go to the same place, and especially stay in the same accommodation, more than once, but I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Location was perfect - just 2 short blocks (about 3 minutes walk) from the town centre and where the ski buses leave from, so we didn't have to drag our ski gear a long distance by foot. The rooms were beautifully decorated, the bed comfortable and the bathroom warm and clean. We arrived at night and when we woke up in the morning we opened the curtain next to the bed and were stunned by a spectacular view of snow-capped mountains across the lake (photo included). However, the best part was probably the staff, especially Pippa. When we arrived we knocked on the door and were greeted by Pippa. She sat us down on the couch in front of the log fire and chatted to us for a while, giving us some tips on Queenstown and skiing locations, then showed us our room and all the features of the hotel. Throughout our stay the staff were so friendly, as were other guests that we met in the shared lounge room. Breakfast in the old dairy (NZ for deli or corner store) was near-perfect to start a day of skiing (I suggest adding a little fresh fruit sometimes). Relaxing outdoors in the 40 degree Celsius spa was a wonderful way to wind down and ease those sore muscles after a day's skiing. Make sure you visit the kiwis, keas and other birds just up the road at the amazing bird park, and take the gondola next to the bird park to the top of the mountain for an amazing view and fun ride (race!) down the wheeled luge track. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back for sure to share the experience with other family members who couldn't come this time.

Lovely boutique hotel vibe with great friendly staff. Nothing was too much bother and Pippa was our virtual personal concierge, booking lunches dinners and tours. Thank you so much!! The location couldn’t be any better. Happy hour is a must do and provides an opportunity to socialise and chat with other guests before heading out for dinner. Love Queenstown we’ll be back…

My wife and I decided to spend the first 3 nights of our honeymoon at The Dairy Private Hotel and are so glad we did! Pippa was so welcoming and really made our stay extra special. The hotel itself is awesome and we especially enjoyed relaxing in the cosy downstairs common areas. We can't wait to come back and visit again!!

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Dairy recently. The staff and the setting make you feel right at home. We enjoyed using the spa to relax in outside and meeting some new people at the happy hour drinks in the lounge. The decor is luxurious and beautiful if you appreciate interiors and it is super handy to town. We would definitely stay here again.
